Bridges not Bunkers: The „Old Bridge“ (Stari Most) is witness to centuries of conflicts in the Balkans. In summer people leap from it into the Neretva. Can‘t say this about any Bunker (that i know of…)

I have been teaching New Media in universities since about 10 years. 3D modeling, physical computing, programming ... all came together for the project "Between Particles and Waves" (BPaW) - A while back and I started this project with in "the game of the decade" minecraft.

It was received well in Europe and the Americas. But in Korea it really took off and has seen a 2nd and even a 3rd edition with - We invite renowned artists and apropriate the game for an "exhibition in digital public space".

The server is still open under bpaw2.apexmc.co and ever-changing. See here some fotos of our conference on BPaW at Total Museum, and the following dinner at a restaurant nearby (of course i brought some Lego on the trip).

The "metaverse" - or whatever we will be calling it - is still a grey zone. Some people confuse it with crypto, nft or a single company's product, while I personally just like to call it "immersive 3D multiplayer websites" (which sounds just half as good...)

Anyhow, consider this: Our devices are still getting ever more powerful and even companies like Apple bring new VR devices which will all probably get consumer friendly within the next 5 years. Besides, in the south of the world, where i have been staying for a little while now, it's quite normal to have a large percentage of your cultural input only via electronic devices.

Have you ever, only online (!), seen the work of an artist, musician, architect, dancer, which has influenced you although you never "touched, smelled, felt" the work? If so, you are probably ready for "the metaverse".

There's a bunch of great use-cases, where it makes sense, most of these might still have to be discovered with the technology and platforms to experience these still years behind. Well, this and more was discussed at the conference and over dinner and i'm sure no digital product can beat real corean food in the near future.

Thanks to, and great hanging out with you in the real world after 2 years of exchanges online

"Be the connection that you want to see in this world" - I went to Seoul to speak at a roundtable discussing the creation of Art in the Metaverse. Then traveled to Yeongdeok, this small city on Korea's east coast, to innovate the 5G Crown, a personal 5G Antenna. Like in my last post, another headpiece, this time inspired by the impressions Korea has left with me. Extended Reality in every sense, Korea, well done living in the future. The worldwideweb straight to your head. Thanks for modeling Mrs Fang and Mr Kim.

Grey, red, reddish brown, dark orange and flesh tan are the shadings of choice to match the color palette of . Columns 2x2x12 and 1x1x8 to recreate the tubes, wirings and reinforcements. Put on top of that some panels, smooth and grooved plates, interfaces and, voila, ready. Shift starts at 8am on monday.
