Elegí hacer a un gorila y no a otro animal, porque lo considero una especie que merece particularmente nuestro máximo respeto. Tenemos ancestros en común con los gorilas, y de algún modo, nuestra existencia es una realidad gracias a que otras especies también están aquí, compartiendo el planeta con nosotros. Sin embargo, lejos de brindarles respeto son encerrados, torturados, expuestos y asesinados como conejillos de india por la estúpida necesidad humana de sentirse superior.
No me considero animalista, pero sí soy respetuosa de toda la vida que hay en la tierra, sin distinción de especies o razas, incluso de las que me generan temor, y me resulta francamente increíble como nuestra gran capacidad de razonamiento, inteligencia y lenguaje, únicos en el reino animal, tristemente nos lleve una y otra vez a intentar exterminar con toda vida sobre la tierra, incluida la nuestra.
Es una lástima que el poder casi siempre esté en las manos incorrectas.

I chose to make a gorilla and not another animal, because I consider it a species that particularly deserves our utmost respect. We have common ancestors with gorillas, and in some way, our existence is a reality thanks to the fact that other species are also here, sharing the planet with us. However, far from giving them respect they are locked up, tortured, exposed and killed like guinea pigs for the stupid human need to feel superior.
I do not consider myself an animalist, but I am respectful of all life on earth, without distinction of species or races, even those that cause me fear, and it is frankly incredible to me how our great capacity for reasoning, intelligence and language, unique in the animal kingdom, sadly leads us over and over again to try to exterminate all life on earth, including our own.
It's a shame that power is almost always in the wrong hands.
