Virginia Alicia Zurita Carvajal / Chile
was born in Santiago de Chile, on July 15, 1954. She lived her childhood and adolescence in the city of Chillán, cradle of great artists and heroes, where she studied painting at the School of Artistic Culture from the age of 14 to 18 years.
She carried out her university studies in Pedagogy in Arts at the University of Chile, graduating as State Professor in Plastic Arts in 1980.
She dedicated mainly to teaching for 40 years, she has never left aside painting and crafts in different techniques. Knowledge and skills that she has transmitted and developed in her students from schools, high schools and colleges, through various artistic-plastic or visual projects during her years of teaching, in the last even in combination with countries such as Argentina and Peru.
With her own perceptual sensitivity, she prefers oil in painting, her main themes are horses and the human figure in different contexts, where anatomy and vibrant color play a key role in the composition; her to accentuate the lights and shadows in each of the forms that compose it, thus giving a special connotation to each of her works in relation to feelings.
She has participated in art exhibitions in galleries in cities such as Temuco, Los Angeles, Laja and others in Chile.
Abroad she has exhibited together with other artists in the Museum and Art Galleries of the cities of Buenos Aires and Córdova in Argentina.
In 2020 she participates in two international virtual exhibitions in Norway, coordinated by Baroness Jiselda Salbu.
In 2021 she participates as a selected artist in the V International Exhibition of Women Artists coordinated by Qota Panaycuna, Peru.
