These young ones have skills that constantly blow me away it is a highlight of my week to work with them. The Cook Islands is full of talent these ones are our future - Improv fun builds confidence, public speaking, storytelling, character you name it they have it.

Learning to Devise a story is work I love doing with young ones , the ownership of the story and characters allows them to feel connected to acting , knowing their space on stage, and projection. Today we were joined by KukiCre8tive Alumni Kohen Holley to help with physical performance which as an actor he does so well, we extended our rising DoP skill with Liam Aviu-Kurariki and Directing with Ruby Newport Maria Grace and Tekeuariki Dashwood. Each member of this group shines our Actors on stage give performances that show thought, consideration and a confidence that blows me away. Super proud of you all today and everday.

Today we kicked off KukiCre8tive Snrs and what stunning bunch of smart intuitive and clever Performers we have. So happy to be back working with our talented Mapu.

KUKICRE8TIVE SENIORS KICKS OFF THIS WEDNESDAY.
Our seniors are aspiring creatives between the ages of 12-18 years old. We only have 25 participants in our program - KukiCre8tive is all about expression and developing the skills in the performing and creative arts

Time: - 3.30pm to 5.30pm

The program is all about engagement at the levels that each participant feels comfortable at. We have young people who have their own blocks to creativity, and it is within this program that we help to provide the pathway for them to really see their own talents. We watch confidence build and teamwork begin to shine. Attitudes change and artistic voice and expression becomes the norm.

Acting for Theatre
Acting for Screen
Improvisation
Devising
Vocal Projection
Singing techniques and vocal range
Percussion and rhythms
Camera angles techniques

Directing skills

So meitaki to those who already registered so excited to see you on Wednesday and for those that are interested and just want to come and see what it is about you are welcome to join us for the first session too.

KUKICre8tive Jnrs for ages 8-11 will open up in March. We also would like to take this moment to let you know we are not a babysitting service we seek young people who really enjoy the Performing Arts and want to learn and grow.

In 2026 our sessions will be divided into Seniors 13-18 years old and a Juniors 8 - 12 years old. We only take a total of 20 Creatives in each group so please fill out our registration form and we will get back to you.

Please understand numbers are restricted and our previous KukiCre8tivers are automatically reaccepted.

We will be commencing Wednesday Feb 18th

Kuki Cre8tive is held at Kent Hall on Wednesdays after school with the Jnr sessions from 2.30 - 4.00 and our Seniors 4pm - 5.30pm.

This programme is for our Mapu who are genuinely interested in performance. KukiCre8tive is safe space for expression and creative development.

Looking forward to working with our incredibly talented Mapu again.
