The past week has been varied mixture of different things - as our cannoes take shape - a little jib was woven, decorations carved, lashings of gunnels, sails cut, and plenty of toa cut. The toa is super strong and will be prepared this week for kiatos for our vaka. We ard moving into the next phase of building different parts and different elements !

The process of creating continues - while our carvers are carving our weavers are weaving - te viriviri nei tatou - a rauara sail. This is a collaborative process of many hands at many stages - what a beautiful weaving of not only sails but people old young male female skilled not so skilled learning and experts - together something beautiful is made !
