KUMETE COLLECTIVE APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN!!! 🥳🥳🥳

Last year the Kumete Collective internships were founded in an effort to support Kuki Airani youth in their artistic ambitions 💜🧡

This year Te Atamira Arts is proud to announce that our Kumete Collective internships have been expanded to introduce opportunities across various artistic disciplines 🎨 🎙 🎥 🎭

Applications close December 30th and works will debut at the Te Atamira Arts Festival in February 2023 ☀️

MEET OUR SUMMER INTERN #2 💃🏽🎭🤩

Kia Orana, my name is Ana Nooroa and I am 16 years of age. Dancing has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember.

When I was 11 yrs old and living in New Zealand, my cousin who took dance classes with The Royal Family Dance Crew used to practice her dances in front of me. It was through watching her dance, watching her bring choreography to life, that my passion for dance grew.

A year later, I moved back to our beautiful island and continued to nurture my passion for dance by learning from others and even choreographing my own dances.

As the years have gone by I gained the same amount of interest for drama. Although I am still new to drama, I’m excited to learn, improve and hopefully thrive in the performing arts industry.

MEET OUR SUMMER INTERN #1 💃🏽🎭🤩

Kia Orana. My name is Luca Dearlove, I am 16 years old and I am currently a student at Tereora college.

My passion and love for dance started at a young age when I joined the Hiphop 4 kidz dance group with Nana Hirata and Tash Areora. I continued to dance and perform over the years, both overseas and on the island. I have also been afforded the opportunity to work along side film students from New Zealand and through this collaboration I learnt a lot about the fields of Dance and Drama.

I aim to continue to develop in the Performing Arts and am hoping to pursue a future in that field. I have had many opportunities over the years to perform in front of live audiences, but being able to showcase my own piece is an opportunity that I am very grateful for. I hope that I get more chances like this - where I can produce my own performances and continue to share my passion and love for dance and drama.
