Christian Blex joins the Malmö SymfoniOrkester for two summer evenings at Pildammsteatern in Pildammsparken, Malmö.

🎶 On 13 June at 7 PM, with a repeated performance on 14 June at 7 PM, the orchestra brings a preview of the upcoming season at Malmö Live Konserthus to one of the city’s most loved outdoor stages.
The program features orchestral favourites by Gioacchino Rossini, Ludwig van Beethoven and Jean Sibelius, performed in the open-air atmosphere that has become a Malmö summer tradition.

Together with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Fabio Luisi leads a programme that moves from reflection and introspection to the brilliance and humour of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 8 — a work Luisi describes as one of Beethoven’s most inventive and witty symphonies, full of unexpected ideas and subtle irony.

The concert also features James Ehnes as soloist in Violin Concerto. The programme includes Sinfonia in B minor, ‘Al Santo Sepolcro’ by Antonio Vivaldi, Barber’s Violin Concerto, and Symphony No. 8 by Ludwig van Beethoven.

Nicolò Foron joins the Ensemble Intercontemporain for New York, New York, a programme dedicated to the music of Steve Reich.

Through Different Trains and City Life, the concert explores how memory, speech and urban sounds can be transformed into musical structure and rhythm.

In Different Trains, Reich contrasts personal childhood memories with the historical reality of deportation trains during World War II, using recorded voices and repeating patterns to create a restrained and powerful musical narrative. City Life brings the sounds of New York into the concert hall — sirens, voices and street noise become part of the orchestral texture, reflecting the pulse of the modern city.

Yesterday, Teatro La Fenice announced its new 2026/27 Season, which will open with Umberto Giordano’s “Fedora” conducted by Donato Renzetti.

A cornerstone of the verismo repertoire, Fedora returns to the Venetian stage for the first time since 1968 in a new production by Hugo de Ana. Renzetti leads the Orchestra and Chorus of Teatro La Fenice in one of Giordano’s most compelling scores, a work that combines passion, intrigue and some of the most memorable pages of Italian opera. The cast includes Maria Agresta, Vincenzo Costanzo, Ekaterina Bakanova and Simone Piazzola.

Following acclaimed performances across Europe, Alexander Ekman’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Ballett Dortmund arrives in Seoul for a series of performances at the LG Arts Center from 11 to 14 June 2026.

Inspired by Shakespeare’s timeless comedy, Ekman reimagines the story through his distinctive choreographic language, blending dance, theatre, humour and visual imagination.

Set against the backdrop of the endless Nordic summer twilight, the production transforms the stage into a dreamlike celebration where reality and fantasy continuously intertwine.

Karen Durgaryan conducts the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma in George Balanchine’s enchanting ballet A Midsummer Night’s Dream, inspired by Shakespeare’s beloved comedy and set to the music of Felix Mendelssohn.

Created by Balanchine in 1962, the ballet combines Mendelssohn’s famous incidental music with additional orchestral works by the composer, transforming Shakespeare’s magical world of fairies, lovers and mistaken identities into a richly choreographed evening of dance.

This new production brings together the Orchestra, Chorus and Ballet of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, with costumes and sets by Gianluca Falaschi.

Jérémie Rhorer conducts Die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen in Copenhagen alongside violinist Bomsori.

The programme brings together two masterpieces of the Romantic repertoire: Brahms’ Violin Concerto in D major, a work that combines symphonic depth with virtuosic brilliance, and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6 “Pathétique”, the composer’s final symphony and one of the most personal statements in the orchestral canon.

With Bomsori’s expressive artistry and Rhorer’s long-standing collaboration with the orchestra, the concert explores the emotional breadth of two composers whose music continues to captivate audiences worldwide.

Daniele Rustioni conducts the Luxembourg Philharmonic at the Philharmonie Luxembourg in a programme featuring Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 3 with Francesco Piemontesi and Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 6.

Two works that stand at the extreme ends of orchestral intensity: Rachmaninov’s concerto, with its vast technical demands and sweeping lyricism, and Shostakovich’s Sixth Symphony, a score shaped by contrast, unpredictability and sharp emotional shifts.

Fabio Luisi returns to Amsterdam to lead Giuseppe Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra at the Dutch National Opera, in collaboration with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.

Presented at the Nationale Opera & Ballet, this final opera of our season brings together orchestral depth and dramatic intensity in one of Verdi’s most compelling scores, featuring also the Chorus of the Dutch National Opera.
