and are pleased to present a two-site exhibition by Oliver Mosset – ‚Drive Through‘

The exhibition presents new works by Mosset and is accompanied by an essay by art critic and curator Bob Nickas.

Spanning two locations, 'Drive Through' brings together different aspects of Mosset’s practice, reflecting an artistic trajectory shaped by repetition, refusal, and continual renewal. For six decades, Mosset has approached painting as both object and idea, repeatedly questioning its conventions, its authorship, and even its supposed death. Moving between monochrome and geometric painting, industrial fabrication and the artist’s own hand, his work has remained in constant motion while persistently returning to painting’s most fundamental conditions.

Maria Kozak's exhibition takes its title from her favorite passage of Leaves of Grass, in which Walt Whitman offers a philosophy for living as an embodied practice of openness, curiosity, and ethical attention. In Whitman's poem the 'leaves' refer to pages of a book. He urges us to unlearn what has been accepted without question and suggests that genuine wisdom comes from trusting one's own experience and the quiet truth that rises from within.
Knowledge is not found solely in books but in the living language of the body. Every text, including the one we write for ourselves, should remain alive, inviting continual reflection and reinterpretation. In Read These Leaves, this spirit extends to the image. Kozak's "leaves" are paintings, tapestries and drawings, each ambiguous tableaus waiting to be interpreted and assigned meaning unique to the

is pleased to present Ana Roldán – ‚Energy‘

Salt stores. Rock sediments. Aluminium is extracted from ore. Light is reflected and transmitted. Matter changes its state without disappearing. In her exhibition at annex14, Ana Roldán, born in Mexico in 1977 and based in Zurich, explores such processes of transformation and asks what remains stored within materials, images and signs. Photography, sculpture, language and light come together in a structure in which history, nature and technology do not appear as separate realms, but as different forms of energy and matter. The three works from Roldán’s ongoing series The Prophet follow this same line of thought. Since 2007, the artist has used images from popular media, altering them through colour and geometric forms. The figures are presented less as individual portraits and more as symbols of ideas and forces that continue to resonate beyond their historical moment. Angela Davis and the monumental Olmec head represent very different periods and contexts, yet, they share a sense of presence and permanence. is pleased to present Hilla Toony Navok: Half Turn

Half Turn takes shape within Sommer Salon as a series of interventions into the architecture of this intimate setting. Responding specifically to this space, Hilla Toony Navok displaces familiar domestic elements from their expected contexts: curtains are trapped behind locked panels, shutters become freestanding structures carrying everyday objects, while other elements are inserted into the Salon’s kitchen, cupboards and bathroom. Through these subtle shifts in placement and function, the familiar becomes strange, revealing the emotional associations embedded in the domestic environment.
Windows, doors, shutters and locks have long appeared in Navok’s work as structures that regulate movement: they allow passage while also holding something back, connecting inside and outside while maintaining the possibility of separation. The title Half Turn captures precisely this suspended movement – the partial turn of a key, the beginning of an opening or a closing, without determining in which direction it will continue. Across the exhibition, this unresolved gesture becomes both physical and emotional, moving between retreat and approach, containment and passage, the desire to open and the impulse to close.

and.the.love.guru is pleased to present Agatha Wara – Bleach &

In Bolivian-born American artist Agatha Wara’s practice, phantasms of identity are excavated as the self is constructed and dissolved, subject to fictionalization and narrativization, (re)presented on- and off-stage. Wara’s work combines textual endeavors, video, sculpture, performance, and occasional parties. Within these realms, real-life desires meet disappointments and become vehicles that the artist uses to colonize feelings of belonging and alienation. With a distinct emotional component, the work displays a type of angst, perhaps of the American teenage girl variety—emotionally stunted, and “unintelligent”—serving as a lens through which Wara processes her own native roots. South American llamas appear as avatars, fashion and glamour meets rural trash, while tradition and myth is mashed up with contemporary commerce.

For two days during Zurich Art Weekend, the second edition of the Zurich Art Forum brought together an international group of artists, curators, museum and institutional directors, collectors and patrons for a series of professional conversations.

Across four communities, 80 participants gathered to reflect on questions shaping contemporary artistic practice and cultural institutions today - from the role of public museums and curatorial advocacy, to artistic ownership, collecting, architecture and perception.

Thank you to our outstanding hosts F***y Hauser (Kunsthalle Zurich), Hendrik Folkerts (Kunsthaus Zurich), Trajal Harrell (Zurich Dance Ensemble), Salome Grisard-Varnholt and Burckhard Varnholt (KINDL Berlin), and to all the participants for their generosity, openness and intellectual curiosity that made this edition so special.

We look forward to continuing these conversations throughout the year - and to welcoming the Zurich Art Forum back for its third edition during the 10th anniversary of Zurich Art Weekend, 11–13 June 2027!

Artist in Hotel Residence is curated by Zurich-based artist Esther Eppstein, known for more than 30 years of work with the art project message salon. Her artistic and curatorial practice has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Grand Prix Meret Oppenheim 2021 and the Swiss Federal Art Award.

🏨 Art meets hospitality
During their residency, artists transform the hotel atelier into a temporary studio. The Open Studio events offer visitors a behind-the-scenes look into their creative process. Guests are invited to discover newly created works, meet the artists, and enjoy cheesecake, snacks, and a glass of bubbly.
