and.the.love.guru is pleased to present Agatha Wara – Bleach &

In Bolivian-born American artist Agatha Wara’s practice, phantasms of identity are excavated as the self is constructed and dissolved, subject to fictionalization and narrativization, (re)presented on- and off-stage. Wara’s work combines textual endeavors, video, sculpture, performance, and occasional parties. Within these realms, real-life desires meet disappointments and become vehicles that the artist uses to colonize feelings of belonging and alienation. With a distinct emotional component, the work displays a type of angst, perhaps of the American teenage girl variety—emotionally stunted, and “unintelligent”—serving as a lens through which Wara processes her own native roots. South American llamas appear as avatars, fashion and glamour meets rural trash, while tradition and myth is mashed up with contemporary commerce.

For two days during Zurich Art Weekend, the second edition of the Zurich Art Forum brought together an international group of artists, curators, museum and institutional directors, collectors and patrons for a series of professional conversations.

Across four communities, 80 participants gathered to reflect on questions shaping contemporary artistic practice and cultural institutions today - from the role of public museums and curatorial advocacy, to artistic ownership, collecting, architecture and perception.

Thank you to our outstanding hosts F***y Hauser (Kunsthalle Zurich), Hendrik Folkerts (Kunsthaus Zurich), Trajal Harrell (Zurich Dance Ensemble), Salome Grisard-Varnholt and Burckhard Varnholt (KINDL Berlin), and to all the participants for their generosity, openness and intellectual curiosity that made this edition so special.

We look forward to continuing these conversations throughout the year - and to welcoming the Zurich Art Forum back for its third edition during the 10th anniversary of Zurich Art Weekend, 11–13 June 2027!

Artist in Hotel Residence is curated by Zurich-based artist Esther Eppstein, known for more than 30 years of work with the art project message salon. Her artistic and curatorial practice has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Grand Prix Meret Oppenheim 2021 and the Swiss Federal Art Award.

🏨 Art meets hospitality
During their residency, artists transform the hotel atelier into a temporary studio. The Open Studio events offer visitors a behind-the-scenes look into their creative process. Guests are invited to discover newly created works, meet the artists, and enjoy cheesecake, snacks, and a glass of bubbly.

is pleased to David Weishaar - Eyelids, towards Night

Night, in David Weishaar’s painting, never merely corresponds to an atmospheric condition. Rather, it is a mental space, a perceptual threshold, an emotional territory within which images slowly emerge, like memories resisting oblivion or presences refusing to disappear. The exhibition title, Eyelids, towards Night, allegorically suggests this movement: the gradual lowering of the eyelids not as a concluding gesture, but as an opening toward a different form of vision. Not a withdrawal of sight, but its continual transformation. Weishaar has developed a painterly practice that places the human body and its relationships at its center, while simultaneously investigating the affective, political, and social dimensions of contemporary human experience. The figures inhabiting his paintings often belong to his closest circle—friends, partners, familiar presences—transfigured through painting without ever losing their existential concreteness. What emerges, however, is not the individual portrait but a shared condition, a common vulnerability manifested through suspended gestures, introspective postures, and gazes that seem to originate from some hidden elsewhere…

is pleased to present Dimitrina Sevova: Samodiva – Wild Reclaiming Space

Samodiva – Wild Reclaiming Space is based on Dimitrina Sevova’s fieldwork in the ruins of the former women's ward of the Ospedale psichiatrico di Volterra complex, now overgrown and reclaimed by nature, and reflects her long-standing interest in the interconnectedness of body, mind, society, environment, and ecology.

Starting from the history of psychiatry, the project examines the construction of hysteria in the context of the rise of modern institutions and the social and economic transformations of early industrial capitalism. In the 18th and 19th centuries, psychiatric institutions not only provided care but also shaped the definition and regulation of deviance—women whose bodies, knowledge, or life rhythms challenged prevailing norms were often stigmatized.

Roberto Ruspoli, raised in Rome and now living and working in Paris, shows he is a man who understands aesthetics and history but does not let them weigh him down.
He works with a steady hand and a clear eye. The lines are clean and certain. The spaces are held together with a quiet discipline. He paints them with a quiet freedom that dances across an empty space where nothing is rushed.
