Get to know our Director of Studies:

Dr. Nicolas Galley, founder and director of the Executive Master in Art Market Studies at the University of Zurich, has devoted his career to examining how knowledge, ethics, and innovation shape the global art market. Since creating the program, Dr. Galley has built an environment where academic rigor meets professional expertise: fostering critical thinking, ethical awareness, and entrepreneurial vision among participants.

With a background that bridges art history, market practice, and interdisciplinary research, Dr. Galley conceived the program to help university graduates understand the evolution of the art market from the Renaissance to the present day. The curriculum is structured around three core pillars: History of Art and New Connoisseurship, Art Law and Ethics, and Art Valuation and Management.

As Dr. Galley explains, “Our goal is to educate professionals who can navigate confidently between the academic and commercial worlds of art and who are aware of their responsibilities within both.”

Under his leadership, Executive Art Market Studies at continues to foster a dynamic international network of scholars, experts, and professionals who are shaping the art market of tomorrow.
