Ybra Sany was born in Guinea-Bissau, where he lived until he was 21 before moving to Portugal. Passionate about music since childhood, he grew up listening to different rhythms such as African, Latin, West Indian, American and more. He learned to dance by watching his parents and friends at house parties and by watching videos of dancers. For him, dance is a means of expression, communication, con

nection - a feeling of freedom. In 2012 he attended the first Kizomba parties in Portugal, encouraged by friends who wanted him to share his unique style, he started teaching. In 2015 he gave his first workshops at international festivals and continued doing so in different countries: Spain, Italy, Poland, Ukraine, Andorra, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Belgium, Malta, Lithuania and Great Britain. At the same time, he studied pedagogy and created his own teaching methodology focused on social dance, the connection and harmony of the bodies and, above all, musicality. For him, being able to distinguish different musical styles is an important part of the learning process.
