It’s already halftime at Basel Social Club 2026! We look forward to seeing you at the fair.

Today we’re spotlighting two works ‘_hey wan_ _o break free’, (2025) and ‘Pu__ing our spiked heel down’, (2025) by Vincent Grange.

In these two works Vincent Grange continues his exploration of q***r history, resistance, and visibility. Inspired by the fictional girl group “The Madwomen of Chaillot”, the works unfold as a narrative of defiance, referencing Stonewall, q***r nightlife, and the ongoing threats against LGBTQIA+ rights. Everyday objects such as cleaning tools and glitter become poetic symbols of rebellion, community, and the refusal of erasure.

It’s our third day at Basel Social Club 2026 and we are excited for you to join us! We would also thank everyone who joined us at the opening yesterday!

Today we’re spotlighting The Martyrs of Beauty, (2024-2025) by Xiao Gui Hui. In this work the artist offers a rare, early insight into his current exploration of plastic surgery and ideals of physical transformation. The figures in the work are driven by an obsession with physical improvement that comes close to being a religion. In the context of this year’s Office theme at the Basel Social Club 2026, the work can be understood as a visual reflection on the culture of self-optimization that increasingly shapes contemporary workplaces and office environments.

We invite you to see the incredible show Penti Menti by Sarah Dwyer running until Sunday 14th June 2026 in the Limmerick City Gallery of Art (IE).

Born in Cork and now based in London, Dwyer has a significant international profile. Penti Menti brings together new paintings, drawings and ceramic sculpture created specifically for this exhibition, many of them being the largest in the artist’s career to date. The exhibition started at Uillinn: West Cork Arts Centre, travelled to Highlanes Gallery, and now is exhibited at Limerick City Gallery of Art. The exhibition is accompanied by a major monograph published by Hatje Cantz.

Supported by an Arts Council of Ireland Touring Award, this national tour marks an important return to Ireland for Sarah Dwyer.
