Today from 2 PM CEST, we’re pleased to invite you at Lugano Art Week. The agenda will be divided into different sections, due to share shades of and with the audience.

The event takes place on Thursday 29th September at Hotel The View, via Guidino 6900, Lugano (CH). After the welcome ceremony, will be presented panels and discussions about the world. At 7 PM CEST will be offered an aperitif during the cocktail party with artists. After that, a gourmet experience with the executive chef Diego Della Schiava.

SmARTravel is pleased to invite you to “Il Filo di Arianna”, an exhibition on Marcel Dupertuis.

The monographic exhibition enriches the cycle of exhibitions that the dedicates at regular intervals to exponents of contemporary art active in the Canton of Ticino, with particular attention to sculptural production, more rarely presented in public institutions. Curated by Gianna A. Mina in collaboration with the art historian Matthias Frehner, and accompanied by a richly illustrated catalogue, the exhibition offers the public for the first time an overview of Dupertuis's work.

A. R. Penck (1939-2017) is undoubtedly one of the most important German artists of the second half of the twentieth century. The retrospective in Mendrisio, which includes over 40 large-format paintings, 20 sculptures in bronze, cardboard and felt, and over seventy works on paper, artist's books and notebooks, aims to retrace the main stages of one of the most significant exponents of international art in the 1970s and 1980s.

Mexican artist Diego Rivera was born on this day in 1886.

After traveling across Europe, where he became friends with important artists like Picasso, he got back to Mexico and sought to create a new national art on revolutionary themes that would decorate public buildings in the wake of the Mexican Revolution.

He is most famous for his modern take on frescos, with flattened, simplified figures set in crowded, shallow spaces and enlivened with bright, bold colors.

You can now visit his and Frida Kahlo's house in Mexico City - have you been to this museum?
