Una sezione concorso dedicata ai giovani e un giornale redatto da giornalisti-adolescenti. Col FIT Festival arriva in Ticino un'istantanea, una fotografia a colori di quello che accade in Europa e nel panorama nazionale: arti performative, artisti svizzeri contemporanei, internazionali e i grandi nomi della scena europea. Negli ultimi anni è la vetrina europea della creazione contemporanea, performativa e innovativa.

𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗙𝗜𝗧 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗥𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗼

The FIT Young Jury, a group of teenagers, explores the languages of contemporary performance through the medium of radio. The Jury attends performances, conducts interviews, and hosts critical roundtable discussions. This year, the Young Jury will once again be present throughout the festival with a mobile mini radio studio and will choose the winning production in the Young&Kids section dedicated to theatre for young audiences.

Together with a group of teenagers aged between 16 and 22, the artist compares his youthful utopian ideals with today’s ones. Drawing on the imagery of video games, Alan Alpenfelt analyses three stages of life: childhood, adolescence and adulthood. Each stage has levels to complete. In childhood, the first cracks begin to appear; in adolescence, one struggles to overcome them and change; as adults, the harshness of reality often lead to disillusionment.

Can we do anything when faced with events that leave us feeling powerless? What are the monsters to be defeated, and will we ever be able to do so? What are the ideal worlds to dream of, and will we ever be able to create them? How many lives do we have left to succeed?

𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗨𝘁𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗮 (working title) is a project by di Alan Alpenfelt co-created with Elisa Bisig, Irma de Marchi, Asia Delmenico, Aziz Hassanyan, Linda Manconi, Alisina Mohammadi, Katarina Ristanović, Edy Sardei, Serena Shala, Timmothy (Timmy) Tekle, Petra Venturo, Giulia Vitale, Kyrylo Yatsenko.

Aïchoucha, – says Hentati– is what we affectionately called my grandma Aïcha. When I was a child, she would lull me to sleep with her songs and enchant me with her stories. Her life, through her loving gestures and her wisdom, has always struck me as a work of art in itself, a sublime hymn to existence. This immersive audio-visual performance springs from those memories. A journey through time and space, exploring and reinterpreting traditional Tunisian music through synthesisers, recordings, cassettes, CDs and vinyl records. An enveloping sensory experience enhanced by a panoramic projection of a film the artist himself shot during a trip through his homeland.

𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗲
in English with Italian and English surtitles

Three cities – , Basel and Johannesburg – will be connected live with the audience to follow, on a big cinema screen, the adventures of a group of young people wandering through the night in Johannesburg.

They were born in the early 2000s, ten years after the end of apartheid, into a world of economic crises, incendiary wars and propaganda-fuelled hysteria. They live in a multicultural reality, but not in a just one. They do not believe in one God. They may no longer have any faith at all. They are curious, sad, angry, ironic, vulnerable – but they do not hide their vulnerability, they turn it into their weapon. A thrilling portrait of a generation takes shape before the viewers’ eyes, in a vibrant odyssey that echoes the Nouvelle Vague and Tarantino.

On stage, familiar yet alienating figures – a mariachi musician in stilettos, a glittering cowboy – inhabit a hybrid aesthetic universe that draws on Mexican folk tradition, the varieté, Westerns and pop culture. Maybe a Concert goes far beyond the traditional concert format, combining music and stage performance in an open structure.�At the centre of the work is the voice of Raissa Avilés, a Swiss singer, performer and songwriter of Mexican origin. The music, too – largely original – ranges across different genres, from folk to indie, with jazz elements and baroque influences… Between irony and tension, the result is a blended form that explores the possibilities of artistic and personal autonomy within systems marked by compromises and contradictions.
