Day two at Locarno79!

Today we screen GABIN by Maxence Voiseux.

Saturday, 8.8.2026 – 11h00 – La Sala
Sunday, 9.8.2026 – 9h00 – Palacinema 1

Eight years. That was Gabin's age when Maxence Voiseux began to film him. Ten years have passed. The seasons go by, the child has grown up, and the agricultural world has changed, too. A decade of field work, silences, and the quiet tension between a father's dreams and a son's own becoming.

Screening followed by Q&A with the director.

Day one for the Semaine de la Critique at Locarno79!

We begin with the WORLD PREMIERE of LOS VENCEDORES by Pablo Aparo.

Thursday, 7.8.2026 – 11h00 – La Sala
Friday, 8.8.2026 – 9h00 – Palacinema 1

Sometimes enemies are inherited. Pablo Aparo travels from Argentina to the Malvinas Islands to meet those he calls "the victors" — and discovers that the real story begins where the official narrative ends. A film about encounter, listening, and the slow dissolution of an inherited idea of the enemy.

Screening followed by Q&A with the director.
