L'œuvre de l'artiste Adolf Kron est aujourd'hui peu connue. Les parallèles avec le sécessionnisme viennois surprennent, le format carré, la structuration décorative de la nature, la conception en aplats et sans oublier l'alternance de clair et d'obscur. Les paysages de Kron séduisent surtout par leur coloris souvent intense. Adolf Kron a fréquenté l'école générale de peinture de Bâle et a effectué de 1901 à 1094 son apprentissage de dessinateur en arts appliqués chez les forgerons d'art bâlois Vohland et Bär. En 1907, des voyages d'études à Londres et à Paris, en 1919 également en Autriche et en Allemagne. Il a participé à de nombreuses expositions suisses avec ses peintures et aquarelles, comme en 1910 et 1915 les expositions nationales d'art au Kunsthaus de Zurich, avec les œuvres " Ruines de château près de Pfeffingen " et " Paysage rhénan ". The work of the artist Adolf Kron is hardly known today. The parallels to Viennese Secessionism are surprising, as is the square format, the decorative structuring of nature, the two-dimensional design and not least the interplay of light and dark. Kron's landscapes are particularly captivating because of their often intense colouring. Adolf Kron attended the General School of Painting in Basel and completed his apprenticeship as an arts and crafts draughtsman at the Basel artists' smithies Vohland and Bär from 1901 to 1094. Study trips took him to London and Paris in 1907 and to Austria and Germany in 1919. He participated in many Swiss exhibitions with his paintings and watercolours, e.g. the National Art Exhibitions at the Kunsthaus Zurich in 1910 and 1915 with his works 'Castel Ruins near Pfeffingen' and 'Rhine Landscape'.
