Dank an alle Besucherinnen und Besucher, die am 6.6. nach Glarus und am 30.5. nach Altdorf kamen, es war grossartig!

Meet the artists: Andro Eradze

Mit Fotografie, Video oder installativen Arbeiten untersucht Andro Eradze (*1993, lebt und arbeitet in Tiflis) die Übergänge zwischen menschlichen und nicht-menschlichen Welten und Landschaften. Dabei bewegt er sich leichtfüssig im Erbe des Surrealismus oder des magischen Realismus und schafft manchmal traumhafte oder mal recht auch unheimliche Bildwelten. Die von ihm gezeigten Tiere, Pflanzen oder Landschaften erinnern auch an die in den westlichen Gesellschaften beispielsweise durch museale Sammlungen konstruierten Vorstellungen von ‚Natur‘ oder ‚Wildheit‘.

Through photography, video and installative works, Andro Eradze (* 1993, lives and works in Tbilisi) explores the transitional spaces between human and non-human worlds and landscapes. In doing so, he moves with ease through the legacy of Surrealism and Magical Realism, creating visual worlds that are at times dreamlike and at others rather eerie. The animals, plants and landscapes he depicts are also reminiscent of the notions of ‘nature’ or ‘wildness’ constructed in Western societies, for example through museum collections.

Meet the artists: Angelika Loderer

Der Boden und die Erde – als Materialien und Speicher – sind oftmals Ausgangspunkte für Angelika Loderers (*1984, lebt und arbeitet in Feldbach und Wien) künstlerische Recherchen und skulpturalen Arbeiten. Dabei ist für die Künstlerin die Kollaboration mit Tieren oder anderen, nichtmenschlichen Spezies zentral: Von Insekten gegrabene Höhlen und Gänge werden zu Gussformen und zu skulpturalen Setzungen im Raum und Wachstumsprozesse von Pilzmyzel wird als gestaltendes und materialveränderndes Element genutzt.

The ground and the earth—as materials and repositories—often serve as the starting points for Angelika Loderer’s (*1984, lives and works in Feldbach and Vienna) artistic research and sculptural works. For the artist, collaboration with animals or other more-than-human species is central: burrows and tunnels dug by insects become molds and sculptural installations in space, and the growth processes of fungal mycelium are used as a formative and material-altering element.
