The Art of Caring in 2023.

As we slowly begin to return to work, whilst still clinging to all that we love about these long lazy hazy days left of our blissful summer, I am so conscious of unfolding world events.

It is I feel our responsibility, because of the privilege we hold by living in peace, safety and comfort, to stand by those who are suffering, displaced, living in fear, and who are being denied access to basic human rights.

Girls and women in Afghanistan have been stripped of their rights, are under constant threat of violence, and yet these women and girls are relentlessly carrying on with their lives.

Since anti-regime demonstrations erupted following the September 16 death in custody of , Iranian authorities have executed four young men and sentenced several others to death on charges relating to the protest movement.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine enters its 334 th day with horrific devastation of a free country, 14 million innocent displaced women, children and elderly, further isolating Russia further from the West and fuelling economic insecurity around the world.

It IS overwhelming but because we live in civilised, intelligent, compassionate and educated communities let us stand by those who have little choice in their fate.

I am heartened once again to be working with through to bring our focus, generosity and support to those in dire need.

The Art of Closing the Work Year.

Thank you 2022 and all the extraordinary humans in my work life and those I collaborate with in all my professional roles.
I feel beyond privileged to work with so many intelligent, compassionate, soulful humans wanting to push the envelope individually and collectively on making our world a kinder, more equitable and more humane place for more people. I cannot wait to work together in 2023 and elevate this platform of conversation, collaboration and contribution!
So much love to everyone who plays a role in in my complex abd busy life and may the upcoming break allow you to step away from the big issues and focus on restoring you, with all that makes your heart sing 🤍

Opened a long awaited parcel today with several works in oil from a recent workshop in Tuscany I was fortunate to attend! Learnt so much from the sublimely patient and hosted by .
I was reminded of the extraordinary talent, teaching, friendships and conversations I had experienced with such a fascinating assembly of humans who became quickly bound by their love of learning, self expression and exploration through painting. What a wonderful experience!
Cannot wait to get the brushes back out over the summer break! AR x

The Art of Female Collaboration

My mind is swirling, my heart has expanded and the weight of the magnitude of the current refugee and global internationally displaced persons crisis is so heavy.

We ( you, me our world) and the state of world we are passing on to our children and their children) currently has over 100 Million refugees and IDP.
40 Million of these are children.
20 Million are girls.

No fault of their own. So little hope. Unsafe. Uncertain. Feeling hopeless and abandoned.

There are currently over 65 wars being fought. A significant number for over a decade. This isn’t going to end. The current thinking is failing the most vulnerable people in our world.
We, as humanity, need to radically and disruptively change the way we think about and deal with this human pattern of movement. We are morally and ethically bound to do so.

I was unquestionably moved and motivated by the unique gathering of a small group@of exceptional global Women in Leadership put together by UNHCR in Geneva.

We had only a few hours over which to meet, form initial bonds over a cup of tea in a private home, and leave each other indelibly changed by the moment.

So much to do. So many ideas. So much intelligence, compassion, energy and commitment from these extraordinary women! Impossible not to be excited and inspired about the long game that has just begun!

Cannot wait to share the knowledge, initiatives and how you too can get involved as the program unfolds!

The Art of Contentment.
So grateful to be able to travel again, to pare life back to some simple pleasures; to have endless consecutive days of sunshine, indulge in uncomplicated honest regional fare and sample local wines,share rich conversations with friends and strangers, to listen to their stories and world views, and to understand more deeply the shared human experience, to have time to find peace and enjoy solitude, to have a flexible schedule so there is space to be spontaneity and to know that all this will make coming home sweeter.
