The Goetheanum Studium is part of the General Anthroposophical Section.

Here you will find information on study programs led by scholars, researchers and professionals from the Sections of the Goetheanum - Freie Hochschule für Geisteswissenschaft The ‹Anthroposophical Studies in English› program permits primarily younger people to acquire new orientation and depth in the pursuit of Anthroposophy.

The Art Study Year students are working on the final touches for their upcoming graduation Art Exhibition! 🎨🪨🖌️

This program is held in English and German and is open to anyone who wishes to awaken and deepen their interest in art and anthroposophy.

Each day begins with text study of Rudolf Steiner’s foundational works, followed by artistic exploration in the studio under the guidance of a faculty member.

Art and Anthroposophy Online! 💻✨

Art classes are part of our online course “5 Weekends of Anthroposophy”!

Learn wet-on-wet painting techniques, explore Rudolf Steiner’s suggestions for painting, and get inspired by motifs from the First Goetheanum and more.

Across five weekends (29 August – 27 September), you will have access to recorded video lectures and join live sessions with the Goetheanum faculty.

As the academic year draws to a close, we look back on some of the highlights that made it so special. ✨

In the Landscape Art experience led by Barbara Schnetzler, students worked together to create collective sculptures in dialogue with the land around the Goetheanum. 🪵🌿

Museum Visit 🎨✨

Just 15 minutes away from the Goetheanum lies the cultural city of Basel.

In our seminar on Rudolf Steiner and the artists of his time, students explore artists who, in different ways, engaged with Steiner’s ideas and the artistic movements surrounding them.

It culminates in a visit to the 20th-century collection of the Kunstmuseum Basel, where students experience firsthand the colors of Kandinsky, Franz Marc, Paul Klee, and the actions of Joseph Beuys.

Tasting in class! 🥕🥛

In the nutrition seminar with Jasmin Peschke, students explored different samples of carrots and milk, taking notes on appearance, smell, taste, touch, as well as the feelings and inner images each one evoked.

It became clear how deeply food, soil, plants, and animals are all intertwined! ✨
