Here is a note from Yüksel Lee Esen that we wanted to share with you all, since many of you have supported our little fundraiser and her in pursuing her dream:
This post is long overdue and goes out to some very generous people.
My family, my friends and people who I have never met but who have been very kind to me, I want to thank you all for what you have done for me. A few months ago Upstart Entertainment has set up a donation campaign for my dream and so many enthusiasts have contributed to that and made it possible for me to start my education at the capitol of the theatre world.
Studying at drama school is so exciting! I have met new people from all over the world with different stories and backgrounds, who have become new friends; I am learning so much about our craft and profession; and because I promised that I would make the most of my year, I even participated with three other students in a theatre play which we set up in the past four weeks, every night after class and it wasn't even a school project. We just did it, because we wanted to learn from each other and from working with each other. And indeed, the process taught me so much. It doesn't matter how exhausting it was, because in the end I gained another essential experience which will help me in my future.
And today, I was in the Globe. I stood with my other classmates on that enchanting stage and had again a moment of gratitude like I have had so often since I have arrived here in September. We will be working there for the next two weeks and I have the honour of playing Titania and Hypolita in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Thank you all. Thank you for donating and investing in me. Thank you for being there for me. And thank you for supporting me. I appreciate it deeply and I will never forget your act of kindness.
PS. You can tell how busy studying here is, so please forgive me for not being in touch with you because mostly, there just isn't much time for it. That doesn't mean that I am not thinking of you, because I am. And I hope you know that.
Love you all
Lee
