This week, we at FOR ART inaugurated our third interim-use space at Rittergasse 21 with the opening of «Cadavre Exquis».

Alongside the ongoing collaborative drawing relay, visitors can experience Peter Knapp’s wall installation «The Yellow Words», Michael Vessa’s DWI (Drawing While Infirmed), and Timo Paris’ «The Living Line». This house is also home to the FOR ART Café-Bar.

It was a wonderful opening, bringing together many artists, friends, and art enthusiasts. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who celebrated with us.

A special thank you goes to the 40 artists participating in «Cadavre Exquis». It has been a great pleasure to watch this project grow collectively, and we are already looking forward to the next relay.

And of course, our thanks go to Martin Schaffner, who made us forget, on an ordinary Tuesday evening, what day of the week it actually was... 🙌

A Relay Race in the Art of Drawing

“Cadavre exquis” takes up the artistic adventure of the Surrealists:
FOR ART invites artists, in loose succession, to draw collectively. Each draughtswoman and each draughtsman adds to one segment of the sheet without knowing the image already in existence—giving rise to surprising connections and shared pictorial worlds. Conceived as a relay race, “Cadavre exquis” is passed on from occasion to occasion.
