Goodbye to «figures & fixtures»… for now! 👋

We concluded our tour of this project at the The University of Queensland lunchtime series presented by Dots+Loops, we say thank you and goodbye for now!

That was the final «figures & fixtures» on our tour down under!

But it’s not over! We have one last concert this Sunday at Ready Made Works hosted by Tony Osbourne with an epic lineup! We’ll present some improv at Impromptu #10. And you can catch some of the pieces from «figures & fixtures» (and more!!!) at IGNM Basel in June! 🗣️🔉💫✨

See you soon and thank you to all everyone– to the new friends we made; the composers (Elizabeth Jigalin, Anna Sowa, Yanik Soland); our hosts (Local Edition, Dots + Loops Connor D'Netto Flora Wong, Tempo Rubato, Petersham Bowling Club, Splinter Orchestra Stadium Rockdale, and Tony; to tech friends Timothy Tate and Hudson Macushla; to friends who helped us immensely Claire Edwardes, Kaylie Melville, Hayley Chan, Uma Volkmer, Alex Tucker, and Michael and Eleanor! We hope we’re not forgetting anyone!! AND to Foundation Suisa for supporting our tour. And we apologise again to those who were looking forward to our gigs with Shrishti Collective and Make It Up Club. We were very sorry and saddened to change our plans due to a personal family emergency. But we hope to come back soon for more collaborations, catch-ups, creations, and explorations. 👥💓

ACCESSIBILITY:

Tempo Rubato is fully wheelchair accessible. There are no stairs and a fully accessible, gender-neutral bathroom. There is an upward incline in front of our front doors. The slope is fine for motorised chairs but assistance is a good idea for manual chairs. The entry is in direct sight for the bartenders and if you give them a wave, they will come and help you. There is a carpark to the north of Tempo Rubato which has no stairs between it and us. That journey does, however, have an uneven ground.

GETTING THERE:

Cars — There is street parking around Tempo Rubato.
Bicycles — Tempo Rubato is just off the Upfield Bike Path and has bike racks.
Trams (350m) — Route 19: Stewart St/Sydney Rd stop.
Trains (150m) — Upfield Line: Anstey Station.
Buses — Routes 503, 508 and 509 all have stops within easy walking distance.

Two exciting concerts with Dots+Loops are coming up! 🔜🤩

First up: DOTS + LOOPS 3x3 this Saturday (22. March) in Naarm/Melbourne at Tempo Rubato. We're stoked to be presenting pieces by Anna Sowa, Elizabeth Jigalin & a short new work by us. We're stoked to be on the same bill as legends Libby Myers & Airport a.k.a Kieran Welch!

Then we'll head to Meanjin/Brisbane to play our 'figures & fixtures' project on the 27. March at the University of Queensland. We'll play works by Yanik Soland, Anna Sowa & Elizabeth Jigalin.
