Susana Guerrero’s work transforms vulnerability into strength, wounds into healing, and loss into renewal. Rooted in local traditions, artisanal processes, and the communities where she creates, her practice weaves together mythology, memory, and material culture.

In Digestive Alchemy of the Mare dels Peixos (Mother of Fishes), the female body is opened and reimagined as a site of sacrifice, transformation, and life-giving power. Through acts of dissection, repair, and hybridization, Guerrero creates works of profound symbolic and poetic resonance—an emotional archaeology exploring renewal, healing, and empowerment.

Here, Guerrero reclaims her as both relic and rupture—where sacred violence meets industrial materiality. Bound in electric cable and suspended between martyrdom and resistance, the figure speaks through absence: a body silenced, yet unextinguished.
