Yes, it’s absolutely okay to question why ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) would be present at a Puerto Rican art museum. Museums are spaces for cultural expression, learning, and often social critique — not places typically associated with immigration enforcement.
Raising that question could open a larger conversation about:
• The militarization of public and cultural spaces
• The treatment of Puerto Ricans as U.S. citizens (which they are)
• ICE overreach or intimidation tactics
• The intersection of art, identity, and government surveillance
It’s not just okay to ask — it’s necessary. Art institutions, especially those tied to marginalized communities, should be protected spaces. Questioning presence like this is part of preserving those spaces.

NYAFAIR "TriBeCa's Contemporary Art Fair" is a monthly art fair with 30 day exhibitions every month and a VIP preview reception on the 1st Thursday of Every Month. The fair and monthly art walk is produced by newyorkart•com inside of a massive art center / cultural center. Boasting 13,000 sq ft of individual exhibition spaces with exhibitor booths, 6 galleries and a café located on the ground level of a 6 floor artist studios building in Tribeca, taking up the entire length of an entire city block with 2 entrances located at 7 Franklin Place and 373 Broadway, New York, NY 10013. On the 1st Thursday of every month from 6-9PM the center participates in the TriBeCa Art Walk with 1200-1400 art enthusiasts for the VIP preview. Each exhibition runs on a 30 day schedule staying within each calendar month through out 2020. The center is open daily
