Paul Leonard-Morgan and Len Pennie bring their "Delusions" to the Edinburgh International Book Festival on August 27!

This breathtaking collaboration between acclaimed poet Len Pennie and BAFTA-winning composer Paul Leonard-Morgan, which premiered at 2026’s Celtic Connections festival, blends poetry and spoken word with epic sound for a genre defying performance in the beautiful surroundings of Greyfriars Kirk. Tackling themes of love, loss, wonder, and rage, Delusions melds Pennie’s gut-punching words with Leonard-Morgan’s soaring music, performed on piano, strings, and electronica. No heart will leave unmoved.

The Observer's Fiona Maddocks with a very thoughtful review of "No Resting Place." his (stunning!) collection of music by Nico Muhly is the culmination of 10 years of collaboration with The Tallis Scholars.

"His ambitious choral work No Resting Place (2022) intersperses verses from the biblical Lamentations of Jeremiah with comments from members of the Windrush generation. The writing, immediate, openly expressive, is full of rich harmonies and soaring lines."

Nico Muhly's busy spring continues with his second release (The Tallis Scholars' "No Resting Place" was released in March) now available for pre-order. The album, entitled "With Eys Lift Up," comprises the complete body of sacred music he has written for The Choir of Magdalen College, Oxford, alongside a handful of works written for other sacred contexts.

Announcement! Angélica Negrón and her Brooklyn-based band Balún team up with Roomful of Teeth to create a tropical song cycle exploring what it means for a territory without full political representation to be repeatedly treated as a laboratory.

"The Puerto Rico Experiment" is a world premiere song cycle commission from Perelman Performing Arts Center (PAC NYC) as part of The Democracy Cycle.

Created with poets Roque Raquel Salas Rivera, Nicole Delgado, Mara Pastor, and Ashley Pérez García, with contributions from writer and journalist Joel Cintrón Arbasetti.

Dates: Jan 16—21, 2027

In February, Alex Weston's "Memory Gaps" was performed at Seattle Symphony's Octave 9 with musicians from the orchestra. It was a beautiful performance in a beautiful space. The work is a collection of darkly humorous mini-portraits based on Cecilia Ruiz’s "The Book of Memory Gaps," with accompanying text and visuals illustrating characters with unique relationships to memory.

The recording was released in 2024 on Better Company Records, and is available at Bandcamp and everywhere.

January's Celtic Connections festival featured the world premiere of "Delusions" – Paul Leonard-Morgan's collaboration with Scottish poet Len Pennie.

In this special collection of songs, Leonard-Morgan’s music frames Pennie’s powerful words, performed by Pennie with Leonard-Morgan on piano, and accompanied by strings, electronica and soloists.
