BATTY! was always meant to be a provocation for conversation and what a one we had last night at StoryhouseLive . Thanks to my wild co-performer Kathryn Hanke, the wise Dawn Llewellyn, and the wonderful audience who came from near, and really quite far, to chat with us.

It was our last show (until we meet again) and a great finish to the autumn tour 🍂

This is who I'll be chatting with this Sunday 19th October at StoryhouseLive after the performance of

I first met Dawn through and then discovered she has the most extraordinary area of academic study...

She is Associate Professor of Religion and Gender at the University of Chester. The author of Reading, Feminism, and Spirituality (2015), and has co-edited The Bloomsbury Handbook of Religion, Gender, and Sexuality (2024), Female Faith Practices (2023), Religion, Equalities, and Inequalities (2016) and Reading Spiritualities (2008).

We'll be chatting about why young women are attracted to the idea of witchcraft, social taboos around female bodies, nature and spirituality, and audience questions.

Well we loved being at Waterside Arts with - they were on it!

So nice to see people we had met in workshops and groups there too.

Also they have a top drawing exhibition on. I enjoyed these pieces 'Klecksography 1,2,3,4' by Cheryl Lewis.

Well Queen's Hall Arts, Hexham was a joy. Absolutely lovely place and who doesn't love a theatre dog! And it just so happened that Luke Jerrams was on in Hexham Abbey - total wow - highly recommend catching it on tour if you can.

Anyway as to our tour...come and be tonight!

What a privilege to bring BATTY! to Lancaster and perform in a place with such potent history of witches. On a wild night of weather and wind, on the cusp of a full moon, I was grateful for friends old and new who made the journey out to be part of our community for the night ❤️

Spent a lovely evening making quick craft characters with hosted by , and every creation was unique, potent and full of story.

Also lovely, cos it was in Huddersfield ahead of my home gig of at Lawrence Batley Theatre this Sunday.
