I am quite excited to say TEMPO Fest is co-producing this amazing show with our dear colleagues at .
It has been awhile since we have been really excited about music and these guys are truly, as the tagline states. - hypnotic.

Justin Adams Music- who happens to be Robert Plant's guitarist of choice for the past two decades, yeah not bad - and fabulous Italian musician of Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino fame Mauro Durante , have joined forces on a project that is raw, electric Mediterranean and plenty of groove.

As we are re-envisioning what projects we are going to involve ourselves in going forward and slowly making changes/choices, our dear friends Small World Music have asked to partner with us to present this night of what will be absolutely sublime music. I hope you will join us!

Justin Adams, guitarist, producer and composer, has been a creator of wonders with Robert Plant in the Sensational Space Shifters. His production on landmark albums by Tinariwen and Rachid Taha highlights his feel for North African groove, while his award-winning collaborations with Juldeh Camara linked griot tradition with raw blues spirit. His work with artists such as Jah Wobble and Sinead O’Connor was infused with the spirit of post-punk London, while his solo guitar album Ribbons was cited by Songlines magazine among the top 50 albums of the past decade.

This new collaboration with Mauro Durante stems from a concert led by Ludovico Einaudi the legendary Notte de Taranta in Puglia, where the two first played together, recognising kindred spirits in the trance rhythms of Taranta which transcend “melancolia” or the blues. Mauro Durante toured the world for many years with Ludovico Einaudi playing violin and frame drums. He is one of the leading players in the pizzica style of Southern Italy and leads CGS Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, who have played great festivals all over the world. Last year they were featured in their own concert at the BBC Proms (where Justin Adams guested with them) and they won Best Group in the Songlines Music Awards.

is proud to co-present the film “The Quest for Tonewood” honouring the Netherlands and Norway at this year’s Lavazza IncluCity Film Festival!

“The Quest for Tonewood” tells the story of Italy-based violin maker (luthier) Gaspar Borchardt. Hoping to make a violin as prestigious as a Stradivarius, Borchardt has his sights set on the perfect wood found in only one location: a remote forest in the Balkans. Tied up in the politics and conflicts of the area, he will have to navigate so much more than just the winding, remote roads and forests of rural Bosnia. Recognizing that the trees are worth their weight in gold, Borchardt is determined despite the many obstacles he encounters on the way.

“Ennio” tells the story of Italian composer Ennio Morricone. The film goes through his journey from composing music for artists like Paul Anka, to his debut with Sergio Leone, to his Oscar-winning score for The Hateful Eight (2016). The film provides behind the scenes access to Morricone and his life and those that he worked with.

“Calliari QC” tells the story of Montreal-based Italo-Canadian singer/songwriter Marco Calliari. Alongside a few of his peers–Paul Cargnello, Kathia Rock and Mamselle Ruiz–Calliari questions the Quebec music industry’s practices and policies regarding language.
