What fun exploring Mi'kmaw artist Carolyn Landry's traditional handicrafts and materials. Baskets, beads, moccasins, birch bark shifted into new and surprising entities. Carolyn and Caravan's AD, Kathy France, are embarking on a co-creation project that will bring Carolyn's oral Glooscap story to life.

We are excited to welcome old friend and Winnipeg playwright, Kevin Longfield, for a reading of excerpts from his play We Are Family.

Two estranged and destitute sisters move to Nova Scotia, lease a former lighthouse site and try to start fresh. A madcap car ride from Winnipeg ensues, and after a bumpy bickerfest on the highway, they arrive to find out that the idyllic site is far from ideal. Will the two sisters reconcile? Will they survive in the windswept shack facing the Atlantic?

This reading event is made possible through the support of Playwrights Guild of Canada’s PlayConnect Program.
