Just starting this little band. It’s only 3/8” wide in teal, yellow and orange silk.

It’s tablet weaving season again! You can come and see me at work at the Icelandic Festival in Gimli, Manitoba August 2/5, 2019. In the meantime, this is my latest band, made in silk, 1/2” wide and 6’ long.

This is a new pattern for me, based on a find from Mammen, Denmark, and I’m really enjoying it. I’m working it in 30/2 wool.

A custom order from another member of my Viking reenacting group. She chose green and pale pink and this wonderful motif based on a brocaded band found at Birka. I think she'll like it!

It's difficult to properly capture tablet weaving brocaded with metallic thread. It's a fun technique, though!
