Having grown up, (as cliche as it sounds) with my first memories of music being listening to my dads old CD collection, I followed the path that every music enthusiast seems to follow at a young age. I developed an obsession for playing an instrument (in this case guitar) before eventually wanting to play music live in front of people. I loved the freedom of expression and the freedom for interpre
tation. Like so many, I have always had a deep longing to make music my career in any way possible. I've been recording music since i was about 12 or 13 years old and I never had access to cutting edge gear back then. I have fond memories of recording guitar riffs in my basement on a little 2-input M-Audio interface of my dads, on some trial version of any DAW software I could find online at the time. I remember thinking it was SO cool to be able to do stuff like that and had never even considered that this was actually a science driven art form that people dedicate their lives to perfecting. Throughout my teenage years, I always had a knack for technical things. That mixed with me being very meticulous made audio production and post-production an obvious path, even though I didn't know it at the time. Having played in bands now for about 11 or 12 years, I have had my fair share of recording experiences, both in the studio and as a "do it yourself" venture. I've had the pleasure (and in some cases displeasure) of working with many different and talented audio engineers. For a long time I was very intimidated by the whole recording process. In some ways, by the overwhelming amount of microphones and cables and consoles and just gear in general, and in some ways by the presence of many of the audio engineers themselves. There were few occasions where I genuinely felt that I was understood musically, and that I was not just another client being put through the motions. When I eventually discovered this passion I have for audio production, I immediately knew that I wanted to be the person who not only has refined his passion into a competitive skill-set, but also can connect with his clients on a deeper level than just putting them through the motions. To be approachable and judgement free, yet able to bring a quality product to the table at an affordable rate.
