Tonight is theeeee night!

Claw Money has been busy passing on knowledge to the youth and now the public is invited to Graffiti Gallery at 109 Higgins to experience her incredible artwork! Claw Money - Offside will be on display at Graffiti Gallery from September 22, 2022, to December 30, 2022. Admission is free with a donation of a non-perishable food item. The artists will be in attendance. This exhibition is curated by

Claw, with her trademark wit, intelligence, and take no prisoners tenacity, has established herself as a rare gatekeeper at the complex intersection of the worlds of art, fashion, beauty, feminism, and media. Having forged her mark in the male dominated world of graffiti, Claw, the woman, and the brand are now synonymous with female empowerment.

Claw has used her passion to create provocative art and a bold clothing brand, all the while vying to remain at the forefront of the art and design worlds and bring them all to global distribution and secure her legacy. Her signature “claw” insignia is recognizable and relevant enough to attract brands that range from Nike to VH1, Calvin Klein to Sunglass Hut, and Pepsi to Bumble and Bumble. Major players continue to seek her out to formulate imagery and campaigns that connect with a progressive millennial audience.

Claw Money - Offiside will be on display on September 22, 2022!

Claw Money - Offside showcases Claw’s branding, with her colorful and bold iconic claw symbol, which has become a fixture of NYC’s urban setting. Claw is as an advocate for ardent feminist and an advocate for women’s rights. She stands as a mentor to young women and in turn creates art to empower them. Demonstrating that not only can they do it too, but they can do it on their own terms.

Join us at Graffiti Gallery (109 Higgins Avenue) from 7PM-10PM to welcome this incredible exhibition. Admission is free with a donation of a non-perishable food item.

We had the honour of being invited to bring Kristin Snowbird artwork to NHCN Health Centre of Excellence ! It was such a fantastic trip with spectacular workshops with Urban Shaman Contemporary Aboriginal Art Gallery.

My process of work can be described as a continuous questioning and understanding of the way in which my tradition as an Indigenous woman influences the way I conceptualize art. I am interested in creating art as a way of understanding the nature of being as a First Nations artist. One pivotal aspect of the work I am creating is the traditional labor of beading and how it can be applied to different mediums of art. I am researching these approaches through film, photography, installation works and performance. I am interested in art as a process of making a difference in the understanding of the culture I come from with its stories and traditions.

Kris Snowbird is an emerging multi-disciplinary artist working in visual and performance art, photography and filmmaking. She is from Pine Creek First Nation and of Cree and Ojibwe descent. In 2015, she participated in the Foundation Mentorship Program at Mentoring Women for Women’s Art (MAWA), working one on one with curator, Natalia Lebedinskaia.

We may have been delayed by forest fires and a pandemic but this gorgeous work now lives in Flin Flon, Manitoba!

The work reflects my learning relationships between land, ancestral knowledge, memory and the sacredness of water. I used the imagery of birch bark and porcupine quills because of its connection to the natural world and technology in making cultural objects; canoes, baskets, and sunglasses. However, they were more than just utilitarian objects; they held knowledge bundles (traditional teachings) passed onto the next generation.

KC Adams is a Nêhiyaw, Anishinaabe and British artist living in Winnipeg. Adams graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and she works in mediums that include: sculpture, installation, drawing, painting, photography, ceramics, printmaking, kinetic and traditional art. Adams has been in numerous solo, group and duo exhibitions and artist residencies. Adams was awarded the Winnipeg Arts Council’s Making A Mark Award and Canada's Senate 150 medal recipient for her accomplishments with her Perception Photo Series.

We LOVE Pilot Mound! What a joy to gift them this incredible work this Summer.

MASHKODE BIZHIKIWAG - Buffalos

This artwork shows the life of Southern Manitoban prairies and farmland, the wildlife of the MASHKODE BIZHIKI - Buffalo and NIKAG - Canadian Geese. It also Includes an abstract representation of the mound that gives this town its name.

Storm Angeconeb is an Indigenous artist from Treaty Three Territory (Lac Suel, First Nation), born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Much of her work includes animals and birds as representations of herself or those close to her. Over the past few years her artwork has been included throughout Winnipeg from murals to light-boxes. Storm continues to practice her art through painting and digital drawings.

Humans have historically sought to explain the nature and complexity of all matter in terms of simpler substances. This distillation has always been present in my own work as I strive to understand archetype and symbolism in nature. In Ancient Greece, Egypt, Persia, Babylonia, Japan, Tibet, and India matter was conceived as being comprised of four elements, air, water, earth and fire. It is this work’s intent to represent these elements and through their interactions, express core human drives for love and wisdom.

Love is represented in the rainbow, as it is caused by sunlight internally reflected by the backs of falling raindrops. Its spectrum and beauty is a direct result of these two forces uniting. Air symbolizes the unseen, the unknowable, and the moon as the mediator, as it has a direct effect on the earth, making the unseen visible. The lemniscate represents this eternal bond, a synchronistic storyline of the material and the wisdom of the immaterial.

Anthony Nelson (Anawason) is a visual artist originally from the Camp Morton area, North of Gimli, now based in Chatfield, Manitoba. Nelson draws inspiration from the natural world, Mysticism, Dadaism, and Maximalism to produce highly saturated and rich work, both aesthetically and symbolically.

Located in Falcon Lake at the Whiteshell Community Club

This symmetrical mural represents the wholeness you’ll find in this community. A piece full of colour to express the warmth and devoted characteristics we share for this centre and provincial park. The circular focus links us all together. We are a community built by volunteers and we all have connections to this place no matter our route.

Kyla Quiring is a multi medium Métis-Menno artist born and raised on treaty 1. From wildfire suppression, felling trees and ranch work she is heavily inspired by the land she works on. Her art showcases a story and connection within each piece. She uses fine lines to connect herself to the land and our animal kin one way or another. She often likes to think of her art as a personal journal of teachings, lessons, and reflections.
