Today is our Doors Open event at 618 ARTlington!

Today 618 will once again be open for Doors Open Winnipeg! This annual free event encourages the public to explore historic buildings in the city. It's an opportunity for discovery, education, fostering community and appreciating Winnipeg's architectural and cultural heritage.

Our building dates back to 1912, when the Northland Knitting Co built it. In 2012 it was renovated using reclaimed materials, eclectic antiques, and a distinctive design approach. Now home to 30 art studios, it blends historic character with contemporary creativity. This year marks the first Doors Open with our fourth floor and newly renovated lower level available for self-guided tours.

In addition to opening our doors for you to wander our historic building, we will also have 20+ artists on site with open studios! Some will be doing art demos, and all will be happy to talk to visitors about art and our building! We hope to see you there (and don't forget to enter the People's Choice Award, Social Media Contest, and Golden Boy Scavenger Hunt!)

Tomorrow is our spring show & market at 618 ARTlington here in Winnipeg! If you're in the area and have a chance, I hope you stop by. The building itself is cool to explore, and the 20+ participating artists have all prepared beautiful work to share. One of my favorite things to do is see what each person is working on, and marvel at the fact that not two artists create the same thing, even when working in the same medium. Art really shows the uniqueness of humans, and this kind of event lets others come in and find things that really speak to them!

I will, of course, be doing lampwork demos and talking about this ancient craft. Stop by studio 3-7 and say hello!

I have red mushrooms restocked for our spring market this Saturday (April 25)! Plant stakes, beads, charms, and more. They went fast at my last market, so if you're on the lookout for some, you might want to head straight up to my studio on the third floor when you get here!

✨ International Women’s Day Event | March 6, 2026 ✨

Tomorrow I will be celebrating International Women’s Day at 17 Wing at the annual event presented by the Defence Women's Advisory Organization (DWAO) & Winnipeg Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC). The event brings together inspiring voices, meaningful conversation, and a market featuring women-founded, owned, and operated local businesses.

🕘 Doors open: 0900 hrs
🗣️ Guest speaker (0920 hrs): Kirsten Dubreuil, executive and leadership coach with 25 years’ experience as a senior RCAF officer
☕ 1100 hrs: Coffee break with snacks, live music, and vendors

I have my glass goodies all prepped and ready to go! Some turned into charms, stitch markers, earrings, and necklaces, some coming as plant stakes or figurines!

You’ll find me there alongside some amazing makers, including Artified Epoxy, Little Loop Friends, Nessa Marie Jewelry & Accessories, Seams to be Sewn, As You Wish Candle Co, Dazzling Flourish, Little Feather Creations, and Myrna's Creations!

Finally added more bead listings to my website. I always have lots of blues and purples so I split some up into strands. These are still last year's beads though! I need to take pics of more recent work to share, but for now, feast your eyes on some of these lovelies.
