WE’RE BACK!!!!🎶🎤🤩

We’re back, and things will look a little different however we are really excited to see all who are returning along with everyone new we are going to meet!

We have also joined with RETLife this year to help us not only reach more kids but also to help me streamline a few things and make things more affordable for you!!

This year will be broken into terms.
Fall:Oct-mid Dec.
Winter: January-mid March (after Christmas break to before spring break)
Spring: April-early June.

All terms around 10 week terms. All at Ecole Regent Park School in Transcona. Still really great song selection and a lot of fun!

As you slide through these next few posts you’ll see that things are broken down a bit more age wise to respect everyone’s age group to learn, be challenged appropriately and have a lot of fun!!

Tonight at choir👉🏻

We’ve been working the last few weeks on tearing apart these songs, creating parts that allow everyone to sing comfortably in their range and sound oh so good!!!

We are excited that these songs have come together so nicely and we are getting ready to move on to new ones as we prep for our upcoming recital in just under 2 months!!

I’ve been working hard with the girls on the importance of warming up our vocal chords before we start diving into singing.
But warm ups are more than just for your vocal chords. They are for stretching our mouths, opening up and wakening up our air ways!

Let’s take a moment and discuss performing. 🎤

Performing is a whole other “animal” then just showing up and singing with us weekly.

And even though it’s not necessary to perform in our recitals we definitely encourage it!

One of the best things of choir is that you are never alone. The goal is literally to sing as one🤪

Of course we do solos and duets, however we definitely want to make sure everyone is comfortable and happy, I also love to push the limits just a little!

Growth only comes from discomfort and isn’t that what life is all about?!?🤷🏼‍♀️

So I’m here, ready to make sure everyone is happy, comfortable but also not too comfy…🤭

Practicing…..

Let’s be real it’s nobodies favourite thing to do but it’s absolutely necessary!

I know it’s something kids struggle with, and here at Note Worthy I try really hard to make sure the kiddos have some kind of fun singing at home.

I’ve created a YouTube channel that both myself and fill with recordings making practicing a bit more fun and enjoyable or at least easier to tackle.

For all our current singers, keep practicing, all the effort really does show when we meet every week! Keep going you are getting better and better every day!!!❤️🎶❤️

🎹Meet our Pianist!!!!🎹😍

is one of my favorite people on this 🌍 and when she saw my post asking for help I was so glad she texted me wanting to join me in this new adventure!!

It has been the most fun working with her and I am so glad she is with me on this ride!!

Fiona came into my life a few years back when she taught my son grade 5 and I am so glad we stayed in contact throughout the years!
Fiona still teaches kiddos everyday and then meets us Wednesday nights to teach music and other me!

She has been playing the piano for many years and teaching piano as well!

She loves music and is so gifted not just playing but also pulling notes out of the song and making it fit to us when we need!

We are so grateful to have her and we absolutely love her playing with us!!!❤️

🎶Music Monday🎶

This Spring term the children’s choir is taking on Go the Distance from the Disney movie Hercules💪🏻

I have always loved this song and I thought the girls would be so excited to sing it, only finding out later most if not all of them have never seen the movie🤦🏼‍♀️😂

So here we are singing a song that has challenged them more than I thought it would but they have rose to the challenge and are quickly approaching the polishing stage in the next couple weeks. 💁🏼‍♀️

It’s been a great joy to watch them learn this song and take it on! ❤️

A big reason I wanted to start this choir was creating a space for kids who love music and singing a space for them to come weekly and do just that. ❤️
