Since 2002 our Russian Pavilion united Russian-speaking artists, ambassadors and volunteers from many countries (Russia, Ukraine, Israel, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Latvia, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan and even Turkey). We tried our best to celebrate the culture and the language that brought us together and remain as apolitical as we can to support the cultural spirit of Folklorama.
This year we have decided that we can't open Russian Pavilion at Folklorama and stay out of politics. The Association of Russian-Speaking Manitobans is categorically opposed to the military action of Russian government against Ukraine and we will help the people of Ukraine with every means available to us. Our first action was sending a package of aid to children on March 1.
Our Pavilion is closed until further notice.
