Home Routes/Chemin Chez Nous was founded in 2007 with the direct purpose of building more infrastructure for Folk Musicians to play more concerts in more communities across Canada. This was achieved by partnering with local community members to create a network of hosts across the country who donate their time and homes, or find appropriate venues to host music events in intimate and unique settin
gs. We are not just an organization; we are a vibrant community of music enthusiasts, artists, and volunteer hosts brought together by our collective passion for the magic of live performances in intimate settings. We provide an active social and organizational performance framework dedicated to serving and showcasing both seasoned professionals and emerging folks in the realm of acoustic music. We serve as the bridge between artists and audiences, curating spaces where music truly comes alive, fostering genuine connections, and creating moments that resonate long after the last note fades away. Since its inception, Home Routes/Chemin Chez Nous has received consistent funding from the Canada Council for the Arts, Manitoba Sport, Culture and Heritage, FACTOR, Manitoba Arts Council, and SOCAN Foundation for which we are eternally grateful. Without this support this wonderful project would not be possible. Home Routes/Chemin Chez Nous acknowledges that we operate on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabe, Ininew and Dakota peoples, and on the homeland of the Metis nation.
