It has been a while since I’ve shared much from the studio—not because I stopped painting. Quite the opposite.
Alongside my talented friends of the Winnipeg Gallery Group- I’ve been quietly creating, experimenting and finding some new directions in my work. I’ve been painting on raw linen, developing my Hidden Leaf Collection, creating new painted paddles, and continuing to draw inspiration from gardens, travel and my studio at Lake of the Woods.
I realized that I miss sharing the stories behind the paintings—not only announcing where my work will be shown.

I realized that I miss sharing the stories behind the paintings—not only announcing where my work will be shown.

So I’m starting again. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing some of what has been happening in the studio, Chris Foster - C. Foster Art the ideas behind the work, and a few glimpses of paintings as they develop.

It feels good to be back.

The Emdens, by Michelle Paterson .patersonart . This gaggle mucking about in the rainy, snowy puddle reminds us to make the best of what comes our way.

There may be a few more tweaks but the mood is definitely there. A soft toned painting, a soft, cold drizzly day - perfect for dancing in a puddle!
