The Burt Block Party weekend with Burton Cummings Theatre is almost here, and we’re making a weekend of it at Albert Street Tattoo.

We’ll be open for walk-ins Saturday and Sunday from 11 AM to 5 PM, just a block away from the Burt Block Party.

Stop by the studio- 2nd Floor at 62 Albert Street during the day and choose from available flash starting at $150.

Some tattoos feel like they could have been pulled straight from the pages of an old story.

Inspired by traditional woodcut illustrations, these matching calf pieces combine medieval imagery with bold black and grey linework. A sword and thistle on one leg, paired with a chained mace, oak leaves, and acorns on the other, create a custom set that feels timeless from every angle.

I love Albert Street’s (the street itself) rich history. 2 little blocks chalked full of beauty and debauchery. The contrast is delightful

Here’s a bit of movie magic from when it was part of the set of the Long Walk movie!

The name for our studio may seem unimaginative but it is truly an homage to the stories this street holds.

We’ll be smattering in some history of the street over the next few months and launching a t-shirt design with a cheeky nod to the b***y roots of our street .

Between rescheduled appointments and gaps in our artists’ schedules, we often have opportunities to book tattoos on shorter notice, sometimes within days or a couple of weeks.

If you’re flexible with your availability or you’re planning a trip to Winnipeg, our Short Notice Tattoo Availability form is the fastest way to let our artists know you’re ready. Your request is reviewed by multiple artists, giving you the best chance of finding an opening that fits your tattoo idea and timeline.

The Emerald City and poppy field are fresh, with the remaining elements fully healed, bringing the full composition together across the leg.

This project blends illustrative storytelling with colour realism, combining bold colour, smooth transitions, and layered black and grey elements to guide the eye through the entire scene.

If you’re planning a custom colour tattoo or large-scale illustrative piece, this is a great example of how a concept can come together over multiple sessions.
