After 5 years of apartment life I am thrilled to have found a cute old house to call home. The first photo is my studio space- not pictured is the walk-in closet that will be a sewing room. The second photo is my future sculpture workshop. Also not pictured is the big yard with so much space for gardens. The possibilities are endless!

Lifelines, 2025. My final project for advanced printmaking.
"Lifelines is a sculpture consisting of repurposed wooden building blocks wrapped in bold black and white graphics. This interactive sculpture explores the interconnectedness and limitless potential of the natural world. Inspired by the writings of Sophie Strand, these graphics feature high contrast ‘lifelines’- shapes that are recurring throughout nature in mycelium, trees, roots, leaves and river networks, as well as the capillaries, bronchioles and nerves of the human body".

Reproduction, 2025.
It's hard to capture this installation in a way that does it justice on the grid...
Reproduction is a series of five dozen clay doll faces cast in a plaster mold. In a broad sense, this piece calls attention to the urgent issues of women's rights and reproductive justice. On a personal level, this piece is autobiographical. Each of these faces represents one of my grandmothers' grandaughters. As Mennonite women in a Mexican Mennonite colony, my grandmothers did not have rights. They were expected to be submissive to their husbands and make babies, and that they did. I have 134 first cousins, and 64 of them are girls. Girls who were not seen as individuals but as mothers helpers and wives in training. This piece is dedicated to my cousins who weren't lucky enough to escape the colony and the stranglehold of religious extremism.

A small sample of fabric swatches from my undergrad research. Aren't they pretty? Interesting fact: Comfrey is invaluable as a medicinal plant, but historically it was also used as a dye for military uniforms.

Solastalgia, 2025.
Screenprinted using handmade, small batch oak ink and mounted on recycled paper.

Solastalgia is a term to describe the distress caused by the negative environmental changes to one's home environment, creating a sense of homesickness even while still at home.

Living Colour, October 2025. Hand tinted linocut prints. I'm having fun incorporating my natural botanical inks into my advanced printmaking projects. For this project I challenged myself to create a colour palette using pigments gathered on the U of M campus. The plum ink was made using ground fall from a tree in Bowles Court, the marigolds were dead headed from a flowerbed near School of Art. I used inks from six different plants for this project, but I found more than a dozen pigment sources nearby- not including our pigment garden, I felt that would be cheating... I am so grateful to Katherine, Suzie, and Sarah F for encouraging my adventures in pigments.🎨

I made a kite!
This was my final project for The Pencil of Nature- quite possibly the most fun one can have in a university course. I was down to the wire finishing this for critique and wish I'd taken the time to iron it... But I still love it!
Cyanotype on cotton, toned with dandelions, mushrooms, madder, black tea, iron, and probably more things that I'm forgetting.

Ink making in 'The Pencil of Nature' with Sarah Fuller has been a fun introduction to the world of naturally sourced colour. I feel so lucky to get to spend this summer doing undergrad research on natural pigments at the School of Art, under the supervision of Katherine Boyer. I am growing a pigment garden, experimenting with fiber dyeing, and having so much fun in the process.
