With inspiration from the reality dating show, The Bachelor, past and present collide against an exuberant original score that evokes vintage Broadway in this full-length musical.

Directed by Sharon Bajer, The Perfect Man is a local, original musical written by Sara and Reena Kreindler.

With development support from the Manitoba Association of Playwrights.

Running from May 6-17, 2026 at The Gargoyle Theatre.

Maia is a great young playwright making a big splash with this new work, which will be directed by another local theatre up-and-comer: Anika Binding.

Meet our Writer/Director: ANDREW DAVIDSON
FIFTH DATE @ THE WINNIPEG FRINGE 2024

This shaggy mutt is the owner/operator of The Gargoyle Theatre, which has the mandate of supporting new, original theatrical works by Manitoba-based creators. So that's good. He's also the writer and host of the Podcast "Live at The Gargoyle," in which he interviews local creators, especially those in the theatre arts. (If you've never listened, why not give it a try today?)

In addition, Andrew is the Artistic Director of the Gargoyle Players, the collective that is producing this very play, and is probably best known as the author of The Gargoyle, a New York Times bestseller novel that has been translated into thirty languages.

Finally, he's also an enthusiastic, but mediocre, beer-league hockey player. Go team, doing the sports!

FIFTH DATE is Andrew's first play to hit a public stage, and he is absolutely delighted with the life that this team has breathed into his words.

FIFTH DATE RUNS AT THE GARGOYLE THEATRE, JULY 17-28TH.
