First Fridays in the Exchange.... feel free to stop by tomorrow. Live painting by Victor Tssessaze.... open until 9pm

First Fridays in the Exchange Feel free to stop by next week, we are happy to announce that we will have Victor Tssessaze in the gallery doing a live painting. He will also have artwork for sale.

Victor Tssessaze is a Denesuline from Northlands First Nation in Lac Brochet, Manitoba. Victor began painting at a very young age. Later, as he began to develop his skills as an Artist, he was influenced by the traditional ways of life and the stories of the Elders. These teachings were a great influence for Victor not only in developing himself as an Artist but in developing his spiritual sense.

Through his works he expresses traditional lifestyles, beliefs and teachings of the Indigenous people, depicting the interconnection with their land and animals. Through his paintings Victor tell stories learned from his Elders, who have taught him: Indigenous peoples have not lost their culture; it is still within them and can be practiced.
