Calling all 2SLGBTQIA+ Entrepreneurs!

We’re so excited to be working with the Manitoba Q***r Chamber of Commerce for their upcoming workshop “Q***r-Owned/Owning Q***r: Business Development for 2SLGBTQIA+ Entrepreneurs” on February 18th!

This session with our very own Andrew Eastman and Social Entrepreneurship Enclave (SEE)’s Adam Kelly explores how your lived experience as a Q***r person isn’t a weakness in entrepreneurship, it’s actually a strategic advantage that brings valuable skills in authentic relationship-building, outside-the-box thinking, and generative collaboration. Through storytelling, discussion, and practical exercises, you’ll develop your pitch, identify ideal collaborators, and learn to trust your intuition as a core business asset.

Head to for tickets!

2016, the year things… escalated!

The team multiplied, the year Andrew Sannie and NECRC and Graffiti Art Programming to work with the North End community to bring artwork to Main Street. We quickly learnt to drive boom lifts and bring in visiting artists and piece together small grants to make something massive happen.

Kenneth Lavallee’s The Star Blanket came to life on Road Road Lodge. With countless artists and members of the community helping, the blanket wrapped around the walls bringing warmth to the neighbourhood.

There was paintings on Little Sister Coffee (that melted in the rain overnight…but the artists fixed it quickly.) Nereo gifted West Broadway’s backlane a portrait of his mother.

nùna (now) said “Will you help us bring in the Daughters of Reykjavík?” And we said only if 3Peat is involved and it goes down in The Sherbrook Inn bar.

We essentially lived at The Tallest Poppy and ran The Residency Program and First Friday Afterparties.

Lifetime friendships were made.

It was chaos. We didn’t sleep, we made mistakes, we grew up fast. We wouldn’t change it for the world. Let’s keep going 💙

So thankful for the talented and dedicated photographers that stuck by the sides of the artists to capture these meaningful projects.

Selkirk Ave just got a little brighter!

What a dream to add more light to the iconic street of Selkirk and hook up community heroes with some much needed artwork.
kale.official did an incredible job integrating so much North End storytelling in this window front design. This piece brings together symbols of identity, resilience, and transformation. The sunflower, Ukraine’s national flower, stands as a beacon of strength and survival. In Anishinaabe culture, blueberries represent men and strawberries represent women, honouring balance and kinship. Wheat, traditionally woven into the headdresses of Ukrainian dancers, speaks to heritage and continuity. The rainbow celebrates and uplifts the Q***r community, while the monarch butterflies carry the spirit of transformation, hope, and the future.

Together, these elements weave a story of interconnected cultures, communities, and the beauty found in solidarity all of which is accomplished in this building.

Citizens’ Bridge operates as a program dedicated to facilitating the acquisition of essential documents and services for its clients, including Canadian birth certificates, bank accounts establishment, and enrollment in the Adult Driver Training Courses. While we provide guidance on the process of obtaining various forms of identification, such as MPI photo ID cards, SCIS cards, MMF cards, and Manitoba Health Cards, it’s important to note that we do not produce any form of identification.
Our collaboration extends to over a hundred community organizations and Manitoba Employment and Income Assistance, enabling us to reach low-income individuals seeking assistance with identification, bank account establishment, and adult driver education.

“The design for the mural draws inspiration from my Anishinaabe and Ininnew language and culture. In both traditions, there’s a deep-rooted recognition of diverse gender and sexual identities—something that has always been a part of our way of being. Our language reflects this; rather than emphasizing pronouns, it centers on actions and relationships.

This emphasis on movement and harmony guided the design. I used geometric shapes rooted in land-based and spiritual knowledge to create imagery that speaks to community, interconnectedness, and the many realms of existence. At its heart, this work is about coming together—in peace, in understanding, and in a shared space that feels like being home—to be safe and welcomed.”

Past, Present, and Future
Ky Quiring (they/them)

I’ve spent the last 4 years caring for this boat access cabin on and off whenever the owners left for long periods. The ridges, creeks,  and bogs around this lake held me close during big moments in my life. Specifically moments when questioning my gender and identity, being isolated in a cabin will get your brain turning.
Ravens visited me the most during my time at this cabin. I felt that every time they came around, they brought encouragement from the spirit world when i was in the thick mud of battling within myself.
The 3 ravens represent, the past, future and present. Learning from the what had happen, to what i wanted to become moving forward, while also being present in the now of my internal Journey of self expression and identity. I connected lines with the sun, moon, and stars, represent the continuous cycle of learning. When the sun comes up, we start a new day and when the moon comes up with the stars we get to reflect and try again the next day.
Photo background, is taken by myself around barren lake, in the whiteshell provincial park.
