The Albert Memorial Bridge in Regina is a historic bridge, rich in history and design. Growing up in Regina, I remember sitting in the back seat of our family car with my face up against the window looking at the terracotta spindles painted with flowers and plants.

This memory still makes me smile, the hard work by so many folks that worked hard to build this project back in the 1930’s.

I thought it was only fitting to design a custom colourway and 50 gram kits inspired by this special memory.

These full skeins will be available Friday and Saturday at the Queen City Fibre Festival in Regina, Sk.

I am excited to be vending at the Queen City Fibre Festival this week! It’s hard to believe it’s days away.
Starting on Friday, Oct. 23 & 24, stop by my booth to see a special custom colourway and kits, inspired by one of my fondest childhood memories of Regina.

This one has my heart, as a child growing up in Regina, there is a location within the city that holds one of my fondest childhood memories. I am excited to share that I have recreated this memory on yarn.

Mighty big, mighty fine, mighty proud to showcase the views and sights of Lake of the Woods, Ontario.

This one is inspired by the colours of Lake of the Woods and area. Think evergreen backdrops, blue water tones, and seasonal changes.
Sunsets are gorgeous, and magical to dye on yarn.

After wrapping up the Manitoba Fibre Festival we ran away for a few days and just dropped off a restock of yarns for Gayle at Painted Sheep Boutique in Kenora, Ontario.
If your local, and didn’t make it to the festival, Gayle has many of the new kits and colours I showcased at the festival.

Thank you to Manitoba Fibre Festival organizers and volunteers for another great show.

To all the wonderful people who stopped by my booth. Meeting many of you for the first time along with customers and friends that I have known and shared with in the past was the highlight of the weekend.

It’s always a pleasure to connect with like minded folks who enjoy making and creating a slow fashion wardrobe. Thank you for sharing your projects. It’s a pleasure to chat with others and share ideas. There are many hours that go into this art, the designing and planning. To see my yarns worked up and worn and enjoyed by others is humbling and a privilege.

It’s an honour as a small Manitoba business to have so many folks come out and support what I do.

Big thanks to my husband and daughter Shayla Smith and good friend Red Knit Co. for their support and encouragement.

Olive Park Yarns Silk/ Linen Shop Update
Wednesday, June 3 @ 7 pm Central time.

This collection of specialty yarns are great as a substitute for wool, a beautiful fibre when making a summer wardrobe. They will be available in our Etsy Shop tomorrow. All yarns are ready to ship.

There are so many amazing summer knits available right now from tanks, to tee’s. This blend of yarn has a gorgeous drape, with lots of structure as well.

I stopped by and updated our shelf with new yarns! If your in Winnipeg or visiting the city be sure to stop by and check out the new colours, and our Silk/ Linen yarns. Currently working on a summer tee which works up light and comfy, pictures to follow soon💚

Looking for sparkle? I included some 50 gram skeins of Merino/sequinned sport weight.
This unique yarn works great when held with another yarn, gorgeous on its own.
