What happens when we look again?

This WAG Wednesday Night, be among the first to experience Reframed, a powerful new exhibition that asks: Who is seen? How are they seen? And who gets to decide?

Curated by Assistant Curator of Indigenous and Contemporary Art at WAG-Qaumajuq - Marie-Anne Redhead, Reframed explores how Indigenous peoples have been represented throughout art history and how contemporary Indigenous and racialized artists are reclaiming, challenging, and reshaping those narratives today.

Bringing together historical works from the WAG-Qaumajuq collection alongside contemporary voices, the exhibition invites us to question the stories we’ve inherited—and imagine new ways of seeing.

After the welcome remarks, stay for the reception, connect with community, and enjoy music from DJ The Kaptain as you explore the galleries after hours.

An evening of art, conversation, and fresh perspectives awaits.

What shapes identity? Place, memory, movement or the spaces we move through?

Join Nestor Wynrush for an evening that invites you to experience the gallery differently. Through a community tour and live performance, Wynrush explores how identity is constructed, challenged, and continuously reimagined through our relationship to place and the body.

The evening culminates in a powerful gallery performance incorporating sound, spoken word, a sampler, wheelchair, and deconstructed artificial limbs; transforming the space into a site of reflection, resistance, and storytelling.

✨ A midweek invitation to slow down, listen deeply, and connect through art.
