I usually send out an appreciation post on our way home from the yearling sale, so my apologies for the delay.
You might wonder when our excitement for the sale begins. The day we bring the babies in to begin their prep? The day we load up? The day of the sale itself? It actually begins the day a foal is born. So much time, thought, and love goes into each one, and when we can breed and raise foals that bring both enjoyment and success to other people, there’s not much better about this industry.
Of course there are challenges. Starting the careers of new stallions and broodmares takes patience, time, money. Remember Going Commando? His first few years, talk got back to us: they can’t run far, they are too big b***d. But breeders and buyers who had faith in our program were rewarded, and we are beyond grateful for those horses and memories. What a run we all had!
As for the 2026 sale, once again we are honoured to have consigned some outstanding individuals, all by Speculating, each with his and her own strengths. Our excitement will continue as we watch these youngsters develop in the hands of others.
Thank you to Barry Anderson, Barry Arnason, and Scott MacKenzie and Madison Leonard for purchasing a yearling from us. We appreciate your trust in our horses. As always, thank you to the Fouillard family for your partnership and friendship.
Special kudos to the MANY people involved in putting on the sale itself, but especially Maddy Derksen from the CTHS office.
