🗓 June 28–30, with kickoff Thursday, June 27 featuring the KING of the North himself: Ernest Monias
I’m so honoured to once again be part of the ! A celebration of Indigenous music, art, and community, rooted in love and kinship. 💛
This event holds a special place in my heart. It was one of the first markets I ever did; back when I was only selling dreamcatchers and still dreaming big. In 2021 my Kokom and Aunty came to support me, and we had the best time. It’s one of my most treasured memories!
Coming back now with more growth, healing, and creativity reminds me not only how far I’ve come but how far our communities have come too. Together!
sākihiwē means “to love another” in Cree, and the work this festival does in our communities reflects that love deeply. From supporting emerging Indigenous artists to bringing music and joy to our neighbourhoods, it helps promote the good life. Mino-Pimatisiwin & inspire the next generation in the North End and Winnipeg’s come to honour their gifts 🦅
