Our friends at PDCR have provided us with two (2) tickets to this Sunday's all-ages Wicked/Wizard of Oz theme train ride, departing from Inkster Station at 11 a.m. on June 7. The approximately 2.5-hour ride will make a washroom stop in Grosse Isle before returning to Inkster.

✨ Guests are encouraged to dress up and share the experience as their favourite Wicked/Wizard of Oz characters.

Crowns, crafts, and countless memories! 👑✨

What an absolutely magical year we’ve had at Princess Club! From dreaming big to exploring the bayou, our clever, creative, and kind princesses have done it all. Looking back at the incredible layout of our year, we are so proud of every single moment! 💖

Here’s a look back at our unforgettable royal journey:
Barbie “I Can Be Anything” Club: We kicked off the fall proving that princesses can do it all! We became STEM scientists, caring vets, creative artists, and even designed our own recycled Barbie doll outfit! 🩺🎨

Wicked Princess Club: We went from Glinda’s bubble-filled pink world to Elphaba’s green potion-making magic, ending with the ultimate spooky-chic Wicked Halloween cereal bar party! 🧹💚

Rapunzel’s Autumn & Winter: We painted on canvas, mastered hair braiding, and twirled into a magical sugarplum fairy holiday party. ❄️🌸

K-Pop Princess Club: We kicked off the new year learning choreography, designing album covers, and putting on an absolute superstar karaoke performance!

Tiana’s Mardi Gras & Galentine’s: From celebrating friendship with Princess Lottie to exploring the bayou frog life cycles and parading around in our custom Mardi Gras masks! 🎭🐸

Unicorns, Rainbows & Science: We hunted for leprechaun gold, became royal scientists with color-mixing experiments, and wrapped it up with ultimate unicorn racing game for fun prizes! 🦄🧪

April in Wonderland: We tumbled down the rabbit hole for a whimsical month of clock crafts with the White Rabbit, designing flower headbands, playing flamingo croquet with the Queen of Hearts, and hosting a delightfully silly Mad Hatter Tea Party! ☕⏱️🌹

Under the Sea Adventure: We wrapped up our year diving deep for treasure boxes, completing intricate underwater scavenger hunts, and dancing the limbo at our mermaid finale! 🫧🐠

A big thank you to Miss Madison and Miss Jaclynn and every princess who brought their imagination, energy, and smiles to the club this year—You made every single week magic. ✨

Some ideas just feel right the second you hear them. Bringing passenger rail service back to Winnipeg Beach is one of them.

I had a great chat with new Prairie Dog Central Railway CEO Jeffrey Bannon this week, and you can hear the excitement in his voice. He hasn’t been at the job very long, but he’s already chasing a dream that Manitoba history buffs, cottagers and beach lovers have talked about for years…reviving the old Moonlight Special train trips.

And honestly? I’m fired up about it too.

Back in the glory days, Winnipeg Beach was known as the “Coney Island of the West.” Trains hauled thousands of Winnipeggers to the lake every weekend for dances and roller coaster rides.

Prairie Dog Central, home to one of the oldest operating steam locomotives in Canada, wants to bring a piece of that magic back. Bannon says there are still hurdles ahead, especially finding passenger cars, but the vision is alive.

Summer beach runs. Polar Express rides in winter. Haunted Halloween trains in the fall. A year-round attraction.

You can count me in!
