The Next Fire: Mentor & Youth Gathering

Sâkêwêwak is bringing together youth and mentors for a special afternoon of conversation, creativity, and connection.

This gathering is an opportunity for youth to share their ideas about how Sâkêwêwak can better work with young people in the community. Together we will explore how the arts, mentorship, and Indigenous knowledge can build stronger relationships and support the next generation of artists and cultural leaders.

What are your ideas? What would you like to see Sâkêwêwak do to support youth in the arts? Come have your voice heard, enjoy an afternoon snack, and connect with mentors and other young creatives.

The first 25 youth participants (ages 14–25) will receive a small honorarium for taking part.

FREE EVENT

📅 March 14 | 1:00–4:00 PM
📍 Hotel Saskatchewan, Regina

Join us as we gather around the next fire. Your ideas will help shape future youth arts programming at Sâkêwêwak.

Lets all give Marco Muller our new Artistic Director a warm Sâkêwêwak welcome!
Marco Muller, also known by the artist name Super-Empee, joins us as a Winnipeg-born multimedia artist and emerging curator.
Marco’s practice—spanning painting, murals, photography, and printmaking—is a profound exploration of Cree identity within a colonial landscape. His work is deeply informed by Indigenous resilience and the socio-political challenges facing our communities today.
Bringing a rich lineage to his role, Marco is the son of a residential school survivor from Pukatawagan Cree Nation (Mathias Colomb, Treaty 6) in Northern Manitoba and maintains strong family ties to Cowessess First Nation (Treaty 4). As "Super-Empee," Marco translates his personal history and ancestral strength into a vision for contemporary Indigenous art that serves as both a documentation of the present and a manifesto for the future.

This one was a very special to work on, I dedicate this one to all the Neechis, (you know the ones).

Taylor and I collaborated on this one together for this years 11x14 fundraiser at Platform Gallery.

Due to many folks sharing interest, I am going to run a presale on a limited run of professional quality prints. If you would like one for your self I am asking a presale price of 100$ each. Message me for more details. Much love and respect to all of you who continue to support my artist hustle.

11x14

Absolutely grateful.

I made this water colour diptych paintings a while back, looking to do a run of prints to have available for purchase/pre order. Let me know if that interests you. Much love and respect. I also have a few other smaller prints available.

Recently discovered that my 2018 Essay "Death of the Female: Interpretations of Iconography through the Lens of a Winnipeg Cree" was reviewed and cited by President of the Board of ArtsBuild Ontario Shirley Madill. Although not directly quoted I am humbled to have my work recognized and included in such an important publishing about Kent Monkman. If you scroll down to page 112 you will see my name and essay title cited.

Absolutely grteful, ekosani.

'Micrograndsonhands' 2025 Oil on canvas.

Kenai Kashtyn Blair Pelletier born April 20th 2025.

My 'Number 1 girl' (niece) Jorja Gail did so well bringing my little grandson into this world. I can wait to visit and meet this little guy.

And for those who don't understand the way Indigenous kinships work, you can go ahead and call him my great nephew or whatever non-neechis say.

Absolutely grateful.
