Today, we honour and celebrate Sant’Ippolito Martire, a beloved protector whose story of faith, courage, sacrifice, and devotion to God has inspired generations.

For the people of Sant’Ippolito, Cosenza, and for families who carried this devotion with them across the world, today is more than a feast day. It is a reminder of where we come from, the faith of those who came before us, and the traditions they entrusted to our care.

Our parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents prayed to Sant’Ippolito in moments of joy and hardship. They carried his name in their hearts, celebrated his feast, and passed their devotion from one generation to the next. Today, we are blessed to continue what they began.

Here in Windsor, our devotion to Sant’Ippolito keeps us connected not only to our faith, but to our Calabrese roots, our families, our ancestors, and our beloved hometown of Sant’Ippolito in Cosenza. Though generations and an ocean may separate us, the traditions and faith of our ancestors continue to live through us.

May Sant’Ippolito continue to watch over our families, protect our community, strengthen our faith, and guide the generations that follow us.

May we never forget the sacrifices of those who came before us, and may we always have the courage to preserve the beautiful faith, culture, and traditions they left in our hands.
