The Nursing Society is the student representative body for all Full Time and Part Time nursing students at the University of Windsor. All members of the Society Executive and General membership are elected to their positions by the Nursing Students as representatives to the Faculty of Nursing Council and Committees, to the University of Windsor Students Alliance, and to other groups both on and of
f campus. The elected student representatives bring the student opinion and voice to all Faculty of Nursing committees, as well as UWSA Meetings, so that no decisions that directly affect the Nursing Students are made without a student opinion offered to the discussion. The Nursing Society is also responsible for programming activities of interest to its constituents, which allow for professional development and to facilitate camaraderie amongst students in all levels of the program. We host social events such as Bowling Nights, Lazer Tag, Themed Dances and Bar Nights, all of which are often offered at little or no cost to Nursing Students. Any proceeds made from Social Events are re-invested into the student body! We also offer opportunities for professional development which include the Annual Career Fair, Informational Sessions about Complimentary Care, and Sponsorship Opportunities for students to attend provincial and national conferences of nursing students. Student Nurses at the University of Windsor are of the highest caliber in the province, and we believe they deserve to be represented as such. If any nursing students are interested in finding out more about the Nursing Society and what we do, have suggestions or comments, or need something brought to the attention of the Faculty, they should feel free to contact us through the Nursing Society CLEW Site, or by calling our office at (519) 253-3000 x3489.
