We are thrilled to officially welcome Elaine Shorty back to CHON-FM as the host of Indigenous Collections!

Elaine Shorty is a prominent Inland Tlingit and Kwanlin Dün First Nation (KDFN) community leader, artist, and broadcaster based in Whitehorse, YT. She is the host of Indigenous Connections on CHON-FM, she crafts traditional textile art, and she is the recent past Elder Councilor for KDFN.

We'll share her photo as soon as we can convince her to send one to us... or we'll just take one of her in the studio.

Allow us to introduce you to our new Sales Manager, Calista Silverfox!

Calista was born and raised in Whitehorse, Yukon, and is a citizen of the Little Salmon Carmacks First Nation, born into the Wolf Clan. She has family ties in Carmacks, Pelly and Mayo from her maternal side and has lineage in Vancouver & Saskatchewan on her paternal side. In her free time, Calista loves to create beautiful handcrafted jewelry using copper wire, gemstones, crystals, shells, bones, beads, and other natural materials. Her creative background really flourished while she was employed with the Northern Cultural Expressions Society. During her time there, she had two successful Art Crawls featuring her work. She is now the Sales Manager at CHON-FM & enjoying her position with staff & the station.
