Young artists in NCES are creating spectacular pieces everyday - masks, rattles, paddles, plaques, regalia, and other significant artwork. More importantly, they are making changes in the way they feel about themselves and their community. Dozens of people have been coming forward with suggestions, ideas and requests for programming that builds upon the existing carving program. With the success of our summer hours and also keeping our fellow Yukoner's in mind!
We are now open for extended hours on Thursdays and Fridays until 6pm and Saturdays 11am to 6pm.

KDFN Artists are invited to contribute their ideas towards public art pieces in the Chasàn Tatäy neighbourhood. We will have different opportunities to showcase our communities' artwork in the new neighbourhood being built along Range Road: including: a welcome sign, a park sign, bus shelters, lamp posts, street signs, etc. We are keen to hear your ideas!

We invite KDFN artists to contribute to the logo and branding development for the new neighbourhood being built along Range Road. A branding and art workshop is being planned for September 2026 for KDFN artists and members of the project team. This is an opportunity to share your ideas and creative thinking to how KDFN’s culture is reflected at Chasàn Tatäy.

For August’s First Friday, we’re excited to showcase our Northwest Coast carvers: Bre-Anna Schilling, Violet Gatensby, Justin Smith, Josh Ward and Duran Henry.

Join us on August 7th, from 5-7pm at 102 Lambert for an evening of carving, studio tours and light refreshments. Come see what our carvers have been creating

This First Friday is presented in partnership with .undergound and .artists.at.work. Be sure to visit all participating locations and get your card punched at each stop to be entered into the Air North, Yukon’s airline gift certificate draw.
